Super...this is just my opinion only...I haven't read any write-ups ...just instinctively thinking:
The Horse-shoe, 93,000 fans...Tressel (seems to be getting the program back to its top 5 perennial national power potential)....facing a program that hasn't shown it can play w/ the "big boys"...nuff said...good luck this weekend..crib

p.s.--also, leaning to Florida St.,Tulane, Nebraska and Stanford.....

Obviously my opinion is abit skewed but, I think this program has proven they can play with the "Big Boys" as far as I am concerned this conference has 2 good teams(Ohio st and Michihgan). They beat a big ten team last year and played Michigan Close the last time they played them. Now clearly that was 9 years ago, but still the pac-10 is a very competitive conference year in and out. Neither of these teams has played anyone yet this year so we will have to wait and see. JMO

Wazzu---I here what you are saying..the hardest thing for you to understand is what Wash. St. (or any opponent has to got thru) when playing at Michigan or At Ohio St...both seat over 100,000
and believe you me..in Mich. and Ohio..football is part of the "culture"...its just such a big priority here in the midwest...I thought the effort that Washington gave vs Mich. this year was just outstanding..and I want you to know..it will definately take that kind of effort for Wash. St to put together to play well at Ohio St...I didn't really care for Ohio St. during the Cooper era..but what Tressel brings to the table is that "old guard' solidness that Woody installed log ago.Tressel seems to be getting a large % of the "big-time" players from Ohio...good luck this week...crib

I like UCLA and really like USC this week v.s Colorado. Although It scares me a little the way that Auburn ran on them before there RB got hurt. Will probably get a heavy dose of running from CU

Superbook:

If the Cougars cannot establish a running game the Buckeyes secondary will own them. Doss is a stud and his surrounding cast is seasoned. It's hard to gauge OSU offense, Kent and Texas Tech both have no defense. I am passing this game due to the unknown of how good is the buckeyes offense.

Taking the crowd, tradition, etc. out of it, it will be interesting to see if WSU can throw the ball against the Buckeyes. It seems the more teams throw the ball against OSU, the better OSU defends. They completely had TTech out of their game and continually pressured Kingsbury and stuck every receiver that caught the balls he did complete. The pressure comes and goes but their LB's and DB's close as fast as any D I've seen (at least in the midwest).

Now on the other side, I'm not sold on the Buck O. They have a young line that has played well but that's also because their D has put them in good situations. Krentzl has been effecient but really hasn't been called on to do too much. From what I've read, WSU has a pretty good D so it will also be interesting to see what the Bucks do against a top 20 team defense.

This post is right on the money about the crowd at the shoe. If the Bucks are in a tight game or winning, they're as loud as anyone. But, as soon as they get down, it doesn't take long for the boo birds and you can almost hear the "fickling" in the stands.

Regardless, I'll be at the game tomorrow as I think this is the best team to come to Ohio Stadium for a long time.
I'm not sure who I'll take, probably a puss bet with OSU -2 in a teaser with someone else, but I think it will be a good one.

Comparing pussy Pac 10 crowds with REAL football crowds of Ohio State and Michigan is like comparing the frickin' sorry MAC conference with the Big 10. Whoopee, the MAC may pull off a once a decade upset of a decent Big 10 team, but the day a MAC team beats Ohio State or Michigan in football is the day I see Jesus doing pornos. As for hearing nothing but Ohio State this and Ohio State that......Jesus, Hellah, u live in frickin' Toledo. What in God's name ARE they gonna talk about? The Mudhens? Jamie Farr? The Toledo Rockets? I enjoy your MAC write-ups but please, let's not dis the Big 10 and the Ohio State University in deference to the MAC.

Kidds Korner, actually the MAC is a decent conference and the Big Ten has been down for he past few years. It's a given that the crowds at the Shoe and at Mich are quite impressive but I think WSU stays in this game if they can establish a running game. By the way the Big Ten has won one more National Title than the MAC in the last 30 years and that was a co-title.

???????????

???????????

kiddie korner--simmer down there hot rod.....let me clue you in a little secret....the big 10 is currently not that good:nono: and as far as your claim about pac 10 pussy crowds....i know the big house and the horseshoe are very tough enviroments and maybe camp randall but the rest are mediocre...ill,minn,purdue,iowa,indy.mich st,penn st,nwstern are average.....husky stadium(UW) and autzen(UO) are considered by popular opinion in the top ten toughest venues in the country....anyone who follows college foots knows this....i hope wsu gets rolled by osu and my $ is on osu in the half and the game....im a duck fan and dont care for any other pac 10 squads....hope they all lose....but spewing smack about other conferences and calling the big 10 "REAL" football crowds and conference sounds silly and childish....the big 12 has 4 in the top 25,big 10 has 4(2 in top ten),& pac 10 has 5.....?????.....seems pretty balanced to me....hate to see ya show a typical midwest hillbilly attitude about college foots.....that college football begins and ends in the big 10 or midwest....no doubt it has great tradition and many nat'l championships....but currently there is plenty of parity between conferences in the college football....good luck man and hope you shake that chip that causes you to think we're pussies....

If you look at the 2 teams each of these clubs have faced so far, There hasn't been much compition either way. Ohio State has played Texas Tech and Kent State. Wash St. has played Nevada and Idaho.

If you compare the stats so far:

Ohio State
QB
Krenzel 23 of 28 308 yrds

Washington State
QB
Gesser 29 of 45 462 yards

Ohio State
RB
Clarett 141 yards Avg 7.5 TD 4

Washington State
RB
Smith 171 yrds 8.1 Avg 5 TD

Ohio State
WR
Jenkins 147 yrds Avg 21 TD 0

Wahington State
Wr
Darling 117 yrds Avg 10.6 2 TD

Team
Ohio St. Avg score 48-29

Team
Washinton State Avg score 40 -10.5

Look pretty even to me. The only difference is that Ohio State has a heisman trophy candidate. Richard McNutt. Teams that have Heismany trophy candidates don't lose and usually beat the spread because they have nothing to lose. Go to

www.221lane.com

With players of this caliber there is no way Ohio State will lose this game.

Good Luck to everyone.

Yawn....tell it to someone who cares...like I really care about the Big 10, that conference has been shit the last 3 years anyways. The crowd of O#!o St. and Michigan...?! Ive been to Michigan and OSU games...and it doesnt get that loud. Dont try to fool yourself because you were once a buckeye. Iam gonna continue to dis the big 10 until they prove something. And did I ever say the MAC was better then the Big 10...I mean gheez man your outting words in my mouth.... go back to bucknuts.com and talk shit like your fellow buckeye fans. I go to Columbus regularly to see my sister and I hear the same old shit time after time about the Buckeyes....win a national championship and say something....
