Do you all go out during the night and start your cars every few hours? Do you run water constantly to keep your pipes from breaking and flowing? Do you wrap exposed pipes with blankets and your perrenial plants? What precautions do you all do? We in the south have no idea.

On the course!
If you take care of your car, it will start. Some people warm it up for a half an hour and more! Only need 5 minutes.

Pipes shouldn't freeze as long as the house is warm.

Plants? Fuck em!

get some antifreeze for cars cooling system and check battery is ok, that's it
keep spare warm clothes like full body ice fishing suit & boots & cloves in your car just in case you get stuck in snow or outside. get snow shovel and window scrapers.

drain (outside) house water systems you don't need

Above the Clouds....
It was 5 below zero when I went out this morning to snowblow. We got about 8 inches overnight. Don't know what the wind chill was.
Don't have to let water drip or any of that stuff. Just another winter day here.
