What's up Kickserv? You would put St. Pierre above Anderson Silva p4p? Is it generally recognized that GSP is the MMA man? From my limited knowledge I thought Silva was the big man on campus. There's not that much weight difference between them. Any chance they could ever get it on?

Quanah.......

If you asked 100 MMA "experts" I'd say 70 would say Anderson and 30 would say GSP. Of the 6 polls I am looking at now 4 have Anderson as #1 and 2 have GSP as number 1.

One thing is for sure though, Anderson and GSP are the top 2.

As for them fighting.....it has long been talked about. Will it happen? According to me, yes it will.

GSP has destroyed everybody in his division, and when GSP toys with Koscheck (again) in December there really will be nobody for GSP to fight.

The biggest fight in history of MMA will take place in the Toronto in front of 60 thousand people. Yep, you heard it here. In 2011, in Toronto, GSP and Anderson will fight.

Of course Sonnen should have beaten Anderson and if he did GSP/Anderson would never happen. But because Anderson won that fight it is still possible.

Bottom line is this, if Anderson beats Vitor Belfort I think the GSP/Anderson fight will happen.

And yes I know some on here will say they'd like to see GSP versus Shields. I ain't one of em. Kos and Fitch are better then Shields, why should Shields get a title shot over Fitch? Of course Shields may lose his next fight.

And if sixfive is reading this thread....Nick Diaz isn't even in the conversation, so don't even start with your shit:facepalm:

That Cerrone Varner fight was highly entertaining.

Aldo is one bad dude. He is going to obliterate that weight class. I thought Manny would put up a decent challenge......nope.

I would like to see Cerrone in the UFC. There are some guys he would definitely struggle with but I think he would hold his own. If his wrestling gets better then he would be a big threat to the belt.

I would take him vs Edgar if they fought.

How would Edgar beat him? His standup isn't better. Cerrone's reach would give him fits. Edgar would try and take him down but IMO he would get tagged enough it would make it tough for him.

I'll be the first to admit that I don't know shite about MMA, but from what I saw tonight, Aldo would absolutely bludgeon Hominick. Hominick looks like a nice little fighter, but Aldo geez...the guy was so patient in dissecting his opponent in the first, and then in the second...absolute destruction.

I agree Aldo would beat him but Hominick is patient and has great footwork and striking. Off course Aldo is on another level but at this rate they are going to run out of opponents for him.

Challengers in the WEC

Hominick - see above

Josh Grispi - 4 fight win streak in the WEC and 10 fight over all. Very good submission fighter who has beaten 4 good fighters in a row - Hominick, Micah Miller, Pulver and LC Davis. They could throw Grispi in with Aldo but he not going to get him to the ground and they should avoid this fight for now.

Mike Brown - will go the way of first fight.

George Roop - Aldo would kill him.

Javier Vasquez - ultra talented BJJ fighter who has a fight against one dimensional Chad Mendes on the next card. If he can get Aldo in a ground battle then he has a chance. But he is not going to get him there

Chad Mendes - 8-0 as a pro but has just wrestling and is super huge for 145. This is not going to beat let alone be competitive against Aldo

One of the above will meet Aldo next at 145. Does not look good for any of them. I think Hominick would at least make it interesting on the feet.

There are other fighters in the mix but are not in the WEC. I would love to see Hatsu Hioki, Marlon Sandro and Michihiro Omigawa with Aldo. Sandro/Aldo is not going to happen as they are team mates

anthony pettis is improving with every fight...he has a nice offensive repertoire...

the division isn`t weak....

Edgar standup isn't better then Cerrones Lay? That is news to me. Freddy Roach says BJ Penn was the best pure boxer MMA and Frankie out boxed him.

I see holes in Aldos game and a guy like BJ or Frankie would box his ears off. Aldo is wild and when he throws those punches in bunches. They become wide. Wide like when Mike Swick throws them in bunches and gets knocked out.

IMO Cerrone has a better standup. I'm not talking about just punching here. Cerrone uses a lot in his standup game and that's why I think it's better. His length would be big vs Edgar.

Freddy Roach? He loses credibility with me when he says something like that. BJ's standup use to be a lot better but I'm not sure it was ever the best. IMO in his last two fights vs Edgar he looked very slow. He may have out boxed BJ but vs Cerrone he would have to look for kicks as well.

IMO Cerrone's MT is very good and he has a great chin. I don't think Frankie would even try to stand with him but then again I could be wrong.

cerrone is huge for this weight...but make no mistake....he has varner in his back pocket...

i`m reticent to say that varner was scared, cause the guy is a tough nut....

but he seemed....intimidated?...

i thought cerrone looked good...but i think henderson`s in his head like he`s in varner`s head....varner fought as if he were scared until the third...and his attitude was that of a totally defeated man...

shalorus/cerrone on a neutral would be fun...two kickers....cerrone has the height...shalorus the wrestling...

I think most would look slow next to Edgar. what Roach meant is that BJ hands are about as technically sound as u get for a fighter in MMA. I have to say tho Cerrone's chin looked great last night. I don't know if it was just Varners lack of power or his chin. I have to give Cerrone credit tho. Maybe he can open a clinic and teach british fighters how to improve their wrestling because he looked head and shoulders better than his last few fights. It is nice to see that a fighter worked on a weakness for a change and showed improvement.

:

id say 99 percent if u didnt include Canadians or guys who are upset with him cause he hurt their feelings recently goofing off because guys were afraid to engage with him.
