FOR SATURDAY
Right Angle Sports (RAS)
*No side play Wednesday or Thursday.
*One side play Saturday:
Kansas (+3) vs North Carolina - 5:45pm - Saturday - Final Four - Game #815-816
The Jayhawks overcame their share of adversity this season with star wing Brandon Rush recovering from serious offseason knee surgery, key guard Sherron Collins missing six games early due to injury, and two players losing loved ones to tragedy late in the season. They still finished with a sparkling 35-3 record. Rush did not start playing full minutes until January and became more aggressive (17.5ppg L6) late in the season. He and highly efficient point guard Chalmers (.476 from 3 point range) are both capable of making big plays and shots. Defensively, the Jayhawks finished #3 in the country in FG% allowed. Kansas features four seniors and two three year starting juniors in their top eight making them the most experienced team left in the tournament and a huge contrast from a UNC team with zero seniors. The ACC has been a major disappointment in the postseason and the two highest rated non-conference teams North Carolina played all year came in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 where they had a significant home court advantage playing in Charlotte. Despite this they still blew a 12 point halftime lead vs a Louisville team who did not play their best, forcing UNC to make big plays to pull away down the stretch. Kansas presents a much tougher challenge with a bigger and stronger frontline and a much more polished backcourt than the Cardinals. This will be UNC's first game outside the state of North Carolina in over a month. In San Antonio the Tar Heels will not have a partisan crowd to fall back on and against the most formidable opponent they have faced all year their defensive shortcomings will be exposed. Expect Kansas to play with a chip on their shoulder in first underdog role in over two seasons. Take the points.
Play: Kansas +3 1 UNIT
*Next side update will be on or before Monday morning.
Good luck,
