I've been watching this one all week and I think I'll jump in now as I believe that both numbers have peaked. Any time you see a MAC team laying 2 TDs or better out of conference its worth a look.

Idaho +16 vs NIU
Idaho/ NIU under 53' both for three units

Idaho has the ingredients of a team that can hang around in a game and also hold the the numbers down. Although I have not seen Idaho play, which I usually rely on heavily, their numbers say a lot about the kind of team they are. They love to run the ball, actually both teams do, and the Vandals have also been pretty good at stopping it. I especially like the fact that nobody has yet to run the ball well against them. All three of their rivals were held below four yards per carry.

I've been most impressed by Jerry Kill and his Huskies since he arrived last year. He's a run first and play good defense guy himself, which makes the Huskies an unusual commodity in the pass happy MAC. I really believe that Kill is one of the very top coaches in the conference.

This week has the makings of a pretty good letdown spot though. The Huskies are fresh off the huge win at Purdue. Around here, anytime a MAC team knocks off a Big 11 team it's big stuff and a real emotional high for that team. Today they face Idaho in a game that means, uh, well ,..nothing. Next week they have western division rival Western Michigan in what is one of the bigger games of the year in the MAC. The west should be a three team race between NIU, Western and Central, so next weeks game will go a long way in deciding which one of these teams will step up and challenge favored CMU for the title.

Everything seems to indicate to me that the Vandals have a great shot to hang around and sneak under the number in a game that will be largely played on the ground. I really like both plays in this game quite a bit.

Thanks,Tulah, MC & Cie

The total on the NIU game was just bet up a bit to 54 at a couple of spots. Don't like that.

One last play :

Mia O / Kent St. under 48. one unit

I simply feel that Miami's defense is not nearly as bad as the early numbers suggest. They were seriously outclassed and faced some high powered attacks in those games. Tonights foe is pretty inept on the offensive side of the ball so this is a much softer spot for the Redhawk D.

I really think this is a 20-17 type of game and 3 of the last 4 in the series have gone under. The current wet conditions and forecast may help out a little as well.

I'm done. (well, maybe a 2H play or two.)

2H plays

Indiana +9'
Fresno +8'
Buff -1/2

All for just a half unit.

I like the buff play a lot. Temple has had very little offense and is very one dimensional but scored on a kick return and a pick.

I am liking W Mich -21 over Hofstra--whats your take?

Probably, because that does not seem like too many to give a team like Hofstra but it may be better to play them in a 1H play. I would really defer to Falcon for his view these non FBS type matchups. I saw that Hofstra got drilled by Richmond, but aren't the Spiders always really good?

This is no time for complacency and Broncos know it

It?s not quite as legit as ?Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon,? but Hofstra University?s football program was giddy this week to discover it could be named in a lesser-known trivia game: ?Two degrees from The Big House.?

Look for it and similar games in stores in Division I-AA college towns across the country.

?It?s just an exciting thing breaking down (film of) a team in The Big House playing Michigan,? said Hofstra coach Dave Cohen, whose program takes on Western Michigan (1-2) tonight at Waldo Stadium.

Game, set, match ? Broncos.

There is no greater barometer of a football team?s chances of winning on the road in a bigger venue or against a more storied program than how geeked it is during the week and moments leading up to the game.

WMU was in awe of Michigan Stadium three weeks ago. And the scoreboard reflected it.And when Central Connecticut State showed up at Waldo Stadium two years ago for their Friday walk-through with video and cell phone cameras recording every moment ...

Well, let?s just say the 51-14 final score was as good as in the books.

Hofstra (2-1) is a more revered program in Division I-AA (or FCS, it?s starting to be known), but it?s not among the elite ? except that it plays among them in the top FCS conference.

Tonight is all about the Broncos and their desire to be a Mid-American Conference title contender.

If they can?t execute against Hofstra, it ain?t gonna happen next week against Northern Illinois in DeKalb.

If they waste this opportunity to take another step, they might be 2-6 before they do.
This isn?t news to WMU.

?This is the time of the year where you?ll start seeing teams start getting better and all of a sudden start challenging or you see them go downhill,? Broncos coach Bill Cubit said.

?I keep on telling them, ?The opponent is not really anybody else, it?s us, and we?ve got to get ourselves better.? There?s some things that we?ve got to fix ... and if we don?t get it fixed, then we?re not going to be successful, so we?ve got a sense of urgency to fix it.?

Cubit?s players, without question, have the talking points down. They spoke ad nauseam this week about the mindset of ?getting better.?

It makes for bad newspaper copy but good football.

We?ll see tonight if it?s truly a mantra or nothing more than lip service.

If it?s the latter, the Broncos can begin shopping for another game: ?Several Degrees from a MAC Championship.?

Thanks IE Good stuff as always

Looks like I'm going to split the Idaho plays. Very unlikely that it goes under. I can hope that it goes like the 2nd half of the Cincy game.

2H plays

Idaho +7 -120 ( 2 units)
CMU -5' (3 units) Zips have no heart, no balls and no brains.

Spang - the Temple - Buffalo game is a summation of the way my season if going.

Capped the game as a sure under at 46 and saw a couple others on that. TEMPLE HAS 6, YES 6 yards passing in the game and the two teams barely had over 400 yards combined offense and the FAWKING thing goes over.

95 yard Int return
92 yard KO return

Luckily I have had seven beers to soften the blow

I have nothing on the game but I' keeping up with it on the split screen. I say to myself, Damn Buffalo just has to cover a low scoring 2nd half. Yeah, right there with you except that I'm sober. It was an unreal outcome.

Playing a couple two team teasers just because I can, but I do like both. One unit each:
Auburn -25 / OU/Tenn under 50 (2 team 6 point)

Miami O +14/ Miami O/KSU Under 54 (2 team 7points -120)

Miami O (Money line +240) one unit to win 2.4

here we go again

Kent goes 60+ with a kick return for a TD, Miami O driving in for the lead fumbles on the Kent 5.

halftime update
Total yards
Miami 279
Kent 146

And Miami is down 9 points.

Somebody shoot me
