Adding one more unit to the Cinci play, now a 4 unit play.

While it's true that Cinci has played a few weak teams I am not at all impressed with the quality of the S. Fla schedule. it would be very tough to find a softer group. Even their win at FSU seems a lot less impressive in light of the Seminoles dismal season. I also think its a bit alarming that they were slightly outyarded by the Orange last week in a game where they should have really been more dominant. Also of concern is the S Fla special teams situation. If the game comes down to needing a key FG, the Bulls could be in trouble, they are 3/9 for the year on FGs.

I do like QB Daniels as I was not a big fan of Grothe. I believe that he's going to be a great QB. I'm just not sure that he's ready to make the reads for some of the looks that Kelly will throw at him.

Bearcat QB Tony Pike is well seasoned and makes good decisions and Gilyard is one of the most exciting players in the game. If I have a concern at all, it is that Cinci is a bit thin at LB where injuries have taken a toll but their leader C. Young is expected to be back for this one. I like the fact that the Bearcats come into this one off of a date with Miami O. I'm certain that they have been stressing this one for some time now and it's quite a longshot that Kelly gets outcoached by anybody. He will have this team ready to go for the national tv audience.

I like Cinci to cover the short number.

Pretty amazing how close our thought processes are on this game and these teams - I too like Daniels more than Grothe, I too think sp teams and coaching/gameplans will end up being the ket tonight

Not a big fan of laying points on the road and also not too fond of the USF/ex Cinn DC angle so not going to play multiple units tonight but really do think UC is the play

spanger -

watched most of the 2nd half and now watching it again - funny how people think that bad coaches are good

examples:

Pat Hill
Jim Leavitt
Les Miles

The list goes on and on - but it's almost like you can tell on every play, offense, defense, special teams - this is why LSU needs a new coach (but is now backed into a corner where they are f'd)

Anyway, shooting off at the mouth a bit - good call tonight, push this shit back into the + where you belong

Pat Hill is a good coach.....If the Bulldogs played a cake walk schedule every year they have alot more wins...I love Pat Hill because he always schedule's tough OOC games.......

Thanks, Burns &Tulah

We could go on and on about coaches, It would make a good thread in itself. Since we are talking about the S Fla game I do have some thoughts on Leavitt.

I think he's not as good as he was 6-7 years ago. It seems that in the times I have seen them that a lack of discipline is somewhat evident. His teams do seem thug like at times and commit a lot of penalties.
When Murphy laid out Gilyard and briefly posed over him was a pretty good example. This is the same jackass that had previously been called for a really stupid block in the back which helped turn the field for Cinci. Now he takes that personal foul with Gilyard on a really dirty play that helped the Bearcats score on what was probably the most critical drive of the game.
Leavitt should have yanked that kid off the field so fast and taught him a lesson, but he didn't. So the kid learns nothing and later he gets toasted on a corner/ fade route in the end zone and commits another huge penalty.Hell, he might have been right there with Collaros as the Bearcats MVP.

All that said, You do have to give the guy big props for building the entire program from the ground up. He has done one hell of a job at that. After he tore up the Bama contract a few years back, he's probably there to stay as long as he likes.

Overall I agree with you, as of now he's not a particulaly good coach. I give him low marks in discipline and don't think he's a great game day coach at all. His strengths seem to be in recruiting and selling the program. Even then, if a coach can't recruit to Tampa, he has some real problems.

2 more units on NIU now at -6'
2 more units on the under same game now @ 61

Hawk, a lot of it is due to the status of Opelt but most of the reason is that Jerry Kill will try to win his games with great defense and a solid running game.
As I mentiond earlier, this is probably the best defense that the Rockets have looked at other than OSU.

Toledo was badly exposed last week and NIU is a much better defensive team than Western.

Just want to put em all into one spot for easy grading.
I forgot to post a one unit play that I made on the Wisc under.I did add three more tonight: one more unit on Mia O +14 and two units on BG as the number went down to 3.Also I can't get off of Idaho now. If it were not for the Vandals I would have had to re-up earlier. Other that that everything stands.

Cincy -2' 4 units W +4.0
Cincy over 49' 1 unit W +1.0
Ohio St. -13 2 units L -2.2
BG -4 2 units W +2.0
BG -3 2 units W +2.0
BG over 54 2 units L -2.2
Wisc +1 1 unit L -1.1

Wisc under 47 1 unit W +1.0
Western Mich +7 1 unit L -1.1
Mia O +11 1 unit L-1.1
Mia O +14 2 units L -2.2
Akron +10 1 unit W +1.0
Buffalo -8' 1 unit L -1.1
Akron under 46 1 unit W +1.0
Kent St -3 (buy) -120 5 units W +5.0
Kent St 0ver 51' 1 unit L -1.1
NIU -5 2 units L -2.2
NIU -6' 2 units L -2.2
NIU under 59' 1 unit W +1.0
NIU under 61 2 units W +2.0
Temple over 39 1 unit W +1.0
Idaho -8 1 unit W +1.0

2 team 6pt tease:
Buff -2 / Idaho -2 2 units W +2.0

Halftimes( posted late in thread as they come up)

Mia/OU under 23' 2 units W +2.0
Akron +3' -115 2 units L -2.3
Akron under 21 - 1 unit L -1.15
Central Mich -1 2 unit play L -2.2

Looking over this list on the same page, it just occured to me that I have a lot of cheese riding on the visitors this week.Probably will add some halftimes if the numbers look good.

Also, I have a friend close to the Toledo program that I exchange info with. I will try to get a reliable report on Opelt and post if there is anything new. At this point, he's still hurting and has been downgraded on the injury report.

You degenerate:mj07:

Shit, don't I know it. I am so amped up that I did not sleep at all last night. I ran out this morning for an expresso and 3 bottles of 5 hr. energy drink to get me through the day. This will probably be the defining week of my college season.:drinky: :00x11

Just to prove the degenerate stuff, I just punched in a two team 6 pt tease.

Buff-2/ Idaho -2 2 units.

Have a good one skip

Good Luck Spang, Im still toying with playing Miami of Ohio

I like them, I just wish I wouldn't have tossed a unit on them early. That number moved way more than I though it would. Hell, I was concerned that it might go down to 10 at the time. It looks like Miami is catching some play today though.

Hope you have a big day MC.

You didn't have to prove the obvious:mj07:

I appreciate your input, and I have not forgotten the time you emailed me to warn me about some questionable capping info I was receiving.

You're an obvious asset to this forum. GL this week:toast:

Thanks much Cie and Ray, I remember that well myself. I still think about it when that guy posts inside info. LOL

Somebody mentioned the phrase " Polish Middle" last week and I laughed my ass off. I really want to buy off that Temple over but I can't. Hopefully halftime will offer an opportunity to move on it.
