Chiefs +3 4 units, played at Pinnacle early this morning. If you can find it somewhere at +3, I recommend it. I might be too late with suggestion, sorry.

jets opened at -1

jets opened at -1

i hit it with more than double my largest play...it was a bad line....now it`s at -3 and i`m debating whether to off a portion on the bills or wait for a 3.5....i honestly like the jets on the road at basically even money vs an offensively talented but green offense and a weak run defense......jets have looked cohesive(i know it`s only pre-season) and they have a history under herman edwards of being an excellent road team(as opposed to a very ordinary home favorite)....definitely offing some for a potential middle..alot of factors are favorable here...g.l.

just looking over some info and glancing at the rosters in the raider-seahawk game....this looks like a mismatch...with hasselbeck starting i think their passing game will struggle...add to that the addition of trace armstrong(was he with oakland last year-not sure),rod woodson, romanowski and sam adams....oakland`s defense has been upgraded and seattle`s "d" is not imposing....i look for gannon, brown.rice, garner, wheatley et al to have a big day...and the defense to be tough...oakland laying in the weeds in pre-season...the talent gap here looks staggering.....i hate laying 7 in the nfl,but i`ll have to here.......this line has to rise......looking at a jets-raider parlay....should have hit it when n.y. was -1....one man`s opinion...

KC still plus 3 at Infinity and a few other places.

gardenweasel: Don't disagree on the Raiders, but too many points for me as I look at it today. Your Raider defensive write-up is write on.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

OAK really screwed up by cutting LB Biekert (because of salary cap reasons). He was a solid player in the middle. They are putting 1st rnd draft pick Harris there, but he spent his college days as more of a OLB/DE. He will have a hard time on pass coverage and experience. The Raiders used Biekert to make most of the defensive calls.

BTW
DE Armstrong played for the Raiders last year, but tore his Achilles tendon early and was lost for the season. A DE needs to push off and cut hard. He probably wont do good.

The Raiders have very, very, very experienced players. They are very old. They are lucky that Dilfer is out and the shakey QB Hasselback is the leader.

I am also of the opinion that 7 is too many to give, but cannot bring myself to take the Seahawks with Hasslebeck at q.b. The Raiders had a terrible run defense late last year and I think Alexander could have a good day. Would take the Seahawks if I was made to choose, but I don't know with the current q.b.

Lived in both Clear Lake and Mason City, total of 11 years. Played golf many times with Barry at Mason City Country Club.

gl! hawkeye, the Hawks looked medicore last week, not sure what they will do this week. Their defense looks horrible, offense looks as good as I expected.

Homedog's thoughts sum up mine perfectly....I'd be all over the Seahawks....but it's Hasselbeck....uggggghhh. I would take Seattle +5 with Dilfer, but have a real hard time going at +7 with H'beck. I think I need a +8 to push me over the edge and do it.

Just not crazy about the Raiders chances this year without Gruden. Can't expect Gannon to put up numbers like he did last year either, it was his best year in a few, will be hard to duplicate. Age, and a depleted defence too....lots of question marks in Oaktown!

KC, would like your reasons for backing KC. Curious if its more a play on KC or against the browns. Couch's arm should be ok, reportedly the injury was only some scar tissue, caused by his tendonitis, tearing away. Even if he can't go, Holcomb knows this offense as well if not better than Couch as he played under the same OC in Indy for several years.

Browns D has been impressive in the first half against GB and Carolina. Although the latter doesn't say much. Miller (SLB) will be missed, but capable backups and the quick signing of Darren Hambrick should ease that loss. Lang, starting DE is hurt, and that is a bit of a concern. This D is seriously on a mission.

KC has not looked good offensively, although I don't know how much of that is Vermiel sandbagging. I realize this is their second year under that system so they should be greatly improved from last year. Signing Morton also helps. Also, don't know enough about KC's D this year, but the Browns off, particularly the passing game, has improved.
