It really is sad I got back into this I went to GA for years and then started back up again a few years back met several people who lost it all. In fact one man had his parents mortgage their home and everything he was really in deep. Lost again a few weeks later and they gave him a week to pay or else, well he did not pay in a week and they kidnapped his daughter true story come to findout after he sold his home, car and his parents home the bookie was the police chief. The good side is his family is there for him still and he has not bet again.
And knowing this guy personally made me think I could control it I told my wife today there is no way I can miss every one of these bets well I didnt i got 2 right out of 18. It seems like I only gamble when I dont have the money then it just makes for more trouble
You went to GA. Then, you started up again thinking you could control it.
The only good advice, I think, is to stop betting. Whether you borrow from family/friends, or work out a payment plan with the bookie or whatever, that's incidental.
The problem here is your gambling -- not your payment situation.
Well, re-reading your post you're really looking for help on payment. Scratching up a quick $900 is not easy. If it were, we'd all be nine-hundred-aires. If he's going to kidnap your daughter, rob a friggin bank. If he's going to turn your ass out, take it like a man.
More seriously, don't pay your mortgage or your rent this month -- give it to the man. The bank ain't gonna kidnap your daughter. Work overtime. Get a cash advance on a new credit card (yes, this will put you in more debt, but it might be fewer points than a bookie, and they won't physically hurt you). Sell stuff, like your computer and your furniture. Eat potatoes.
FWIW, talk to the bookie. Tell him you're cutting yourself off and you'll be paying him back in time.
As far as getting control of your gambling. Play for smaller money. Make fewer plays. Basically, don't bet so much so that if you lost them all you'd be in trouble (like you did this weekend). And if you're incapable of that, stop gambling.
Hope this helps.
