18 games?? i just cant get over it..

it boggles the mind... did you expect to win money doing this??

look $900 isnt that much.. lots of guys are offering good advice on how to pay this off..

my thoughts are that if you need to bet 18 games in one day to feel like your getting action. you have a bad problem..

stop BETTING!!!

and if you cant help yourself dont bet so many god damn games!!

good luck:)

man i am usually just a lurker, but hate to see somebody hurting like this. been gambling for about 7 years now and have taken my hits too as everybody has. i dont think you have a problem or anything to be honest. you just made a mistake. you should not gamble what you dont have. if you have a good relationship with your book just tell him........

if not i honestly dont see him going crazy for $900....in reality it is not worth the risk too him...sure he has much bigger fish to fry if you know what i mean. but if you are worried $900 is not bad. i am sure you probably can come up with $200.......if you have a car title quite a few places will give you at least $500 cash......also there are check advance places......just pay up and eat pbj's or ramen noodles for a month.....ask your parents.....it will humble you and not make you do somthing silly again. dont bet tonight though...you will loose......if you own a car u can get money fast at one of those cash advance places....you are just going to pay some money over the payoff period...that is why they are in business........dont get too sick over it it could be a lot worse..........good luck though and put the feeling in your stomach in a bottle so you dont get over your head again

also let your wife know........dont try to hide it will just be worse when she finds out.......got to fess up and be honest with everybody

best of luck

about 14 years ago i lost 12k in a no limit private poker game. i had played in this game for about 6 months and always held my own. after about 3 months they knew me well enough to extend me credit. so, i always took about 2k to the game with me every sunday. if i got stuck, i'd draw a marker and make it back or lose a little. whatever...

it was a wild game that night and i was on a rush and i had 10k in markers in front of me and about 4k in cash. i was UP for the night. shoulda quit!!

well.....monday around 5am, i get involved in a huge hand when i flop the nut straight (flop rainbow). rag hits on the turn i bet 3000 and smitty goes over top of me for 10k to put me all in. he fills on the river and i feel like puking. where the hell am i gonna get 10k?! i leave with my tail between my legs feeling like shit. real bad, man. wtf am i gonna do??

make a long story short, i called the man on tuesday or wednesday and told him that i'd have to make payments of 500 a month or my wife would find out and i'd lose everything. he accepted, i paid, and all turned out well. i never missed a payment and am still alive to tell the story.

you'll get over it. just call the man and make arrangements and you'll be fine. just do the right thing and pay your debt and don't ever do it again like i did. but..... that's a story for another day :(

Well guys thanks for the advice and a loan would be the best but I am out of parents loans so I will l;ook elsewhere Selling my material things are not options since they are not paid for. I have been here before just had many ways out then the Art Schlister story is sort of like mine, I was once a promising new talent on the PBA tour and gambling snagged me I won 25k at a tournament in Vegas when I was 19 years old and had to have my Dad wire me money to get home to make that a short story I will pay the man in payments unless I find a loan shark somewhere and as we all know as gamblers 900 is not that much money

get a 2nd job....quit gambling immediately.....and find new hobby.....talk to friends about this and lean on the for support...

this is tough and a lot of stress is on you.......but you have what it takes to overcome this and emerge stonger than before.....you will develop resiliency through this situation and it will be tough and hard work, but you will become a better man after its all over if you face up to this situation and tackle the problem head on.....

everyone has bad things happen to them....but true character is both defined and made by how we handle adversity.....

take this as a situation as a different kind of challenge then a betting proposition.....it is a real life struggle and you are the player......time to sack up, take the bull by the horns, and come out a winner......

you can do it
