They gave him the big bucks and he cant play. The team has already lost confidence in him way before today. He probably cant bring anything in a trade. They played the Steelers 3 times and score 13,13(really 20 but a garbage td late) and 3 today which was set up by a turnover. Whats next..................

What they saw in Grbac is beyond me....they could kept dilfer
for a couple mil, at least they knew what they had...Dilfer will
probably start at Seattle next year..if Balt could find QB; they
could put him in supplemental draft for expansion...

I have a few suggestions for the Ravens organization of what to do with Elvis:

Seriously though, why didn't Billick put Cunningham in the game. It was apparent from the start that Grbac was struggling and not playing well. What's the worst that could have happened?? Maybe they would have had a chance. Oh well, can't change anything that happened yesterday but just don't understand the decision not to play Cunningham.

billick?

billick?

didn`t you guys know billick is an offensive genius?a guru.he brought scott mitchell, stoney case, tony banks and grbac in to be starters....drafted travis taylor at around 10th pick in draft, drafted jamal lewis(injury plagued, has 2 strikes against him on nfl drug watch-granted had one big year but now has 2 major knee surgeries behind him).signed an injured leon searcy to big bucks contract(hasn`t played a down)......now ravens in salary cap jail....had no back-up ready behind jamal lewis(knowing his injury history),and did nothing to shore up bad offensive line....ravens will lose numerous players on defense due to salary cap,and are stuck with grbac(relatively same cap hit whether he is kept or let go)...all b`more fans can thank marvin lewis for super bowl(they rode defenses backs the whole season)....life is grand in b`more football future.......at least we have the orioles(sic:rolleyes):....

gardenweasel,

agree with everything you said except, they are not stuck with grbage. they have the option to release him after this season. if they keep him, they are stuck with a 5 year deal for over 30 million. they keep him, i'm about done supporting them.

don`t get me wrong...live and die with ravens, but, have to say personnel moves since billick came have been suspect at best...the guy is a great motivator.but offensive game plans and personnel moves have me shaking my head...can`t believe matt cavanaugh formulates game plan without input from the head coach(whose specialty is offense)...don`t mean to be overly critical(we did win super bowl last year),but, the window is rapidly closing....p.s..have to admit i have lost respect for oriole organization since angelos took over....

Billick is the guy in a box, here. He more or less told the world that Dilfer was in little or no way responsible for the Raven success. The he hand picks Grbac to make them all that much better. Talk about a boomerang. I think Billick's ego will have to take a shot on this one, because the Ravens can't win a Super Bowl or even conference championship with Elvis at the helm. I think Billick knows that now.

Remember that coming into this year, the Ravens had Jamal Lewis as RB, and Leon Searcy in the OL. Nasty injuries in training camp sidelined them both for the year. The impact that having no good running back and a couple of poor spots on your offensive line has on a QB is massive.

Further, they moved a former guard (or was it tackle) to center, and lost a great center in the off-season. Combine all that with a mediocre receiving core, and you get what you got from them this year. The blame lies on a lot more people than Grbac.

If they knew that J. Lewis would get injured, they surely would have tried to keep Priest Holmes. Grbac had a lot of success in KC passing to a TE, and I think that was the idea for this year. I bet even though Grbac had a terrible year and Holmes had a great year, KC would have liked to end up where b-more did.

Keep in mind this offense has been anemic for years. It might be time to bring in a new off. coord. because historically Grbac has been a good QB. I don't think his goose is cooked yet, and Cunningham certainly isn't the answer. I'm willing to give him some more time to prove himself.

ravens picked up his option for 6 million per year. the ravens will be stuck with this guy until 2005.

i just don't understand that. the decision is based on what TheShrimp said.

TheShrimp, are you brian billick is disguise? :D

as brian would say

as brian would say

take another leap of faith with him(same line he used when scott mitchell was signed)...i don`t think i have seen a more slow ,deliberate qb set-up in the pocket than grbac...he`s slow...and he refuses to let the offensive coordinator use a shotgun formation(he`s not comfortable with it). grbac`s yards in kc were gotten with a 7-9 team(how much of this yardage was made in garbage time,i don`t know).i think ravens are making a big mistake and if he`s coming back here that long term contract would have to be re-worked(if i had a say)...to tie into the salary cap long term with a guy who is shaky at best(long term deal with a team 70 some million in salary cap jail )is scary.

Jack,

Who are you going to support now. How about my Brownies and cheer to kick The Ravens and Modells ass.

Billick is so arrogant that he won't admit he made a mistake and now Modell is stuck with this stiff for $30 million.

I love it:toast:

I just read Shrimps post, what world do you live in:D

Grbac had success in KC, yea so much they were dying to resign him. Ask KC fans if they want him back, oh yea how many SB did he win there, or even AFC championships?????

Historically he has been a good QB, yea maybe in Pop Warner, where in the hell was he a good QB. Even in SF they let him go, the guy is in the Marc Wilson mold, one or two good games a year (if that) then hype and he proceeds to stink up the rest of the season.

This guy is a loser and always will be, I just can't believe so many so called experts in this league think this guy will lead them to the promised land.

I should be a GM, couldn't do any worse than most of these guys:eek:

I cant believe anyone would think Elvis is a good QB............He sucked at KC........He knew this team this year was going to be a team with a great defense, so what does he do, he throws like 20 pics. Good QBs dont do this. He is just to careless with the ball as he was when he was at KC.
