I'll take my lumps for a little Grbac support, I guess, but I do have a couple things to say.
Blitz: If you're only as good as your record, and the ravens were 11-6, with one playoff win, what does that say about Grbac?
And guys, I didn't come out and say Grbac was good, anyway. I really said he's had some good years (his Pop Warner stats are off the charts, ctownguy), and his poor performance this year could be attributed to much more than him. He performed well when he got protection this year. If you want to say that a good QB performs well even when he doesn't get protection, well I'll buy that to an extent.
And, yeah, Billick's gone with Case, Mitchell, Banks, etc. at times. Its strange how he'd do that when he's got Favre, Warner and Culpepper sitting on the bench, and Bledsoe, McNabb, and Gannon available for a trade every off-season. I guess he really is an idiot. You perhaps would have been happier had he picked up Brad Johnson this past off-season? Ryan Leaf? Tony Banks?
