What do you think is worth the extra money? What isn't worth extra money?

How much do they charge for mowing your yard? I think that is a waste and not worth it.

Sounds like I'm getting on your case but I think this thread has possibilities.

$60 an for 3/4 acre lot. I think that's cheap.

When I am watching Jim Furyk miss a putt on 18, I look out the window and see the guy ride by in the Summer heat. I just take a drink of my beer and watch Jim miss again. :toast:

We pay to have our house cleaned and yard mowed, both worth it to us. 120 every two weeks for house cleaned and 25 a week for yard mowed.

Not worth it to me, Navigator instead of a Tahoe, thats a waste of money in my opinion. Same underneath the hood

Ice Tea, I never buy iced tea, its the single most profitable item at a restaurant, I drink only water at restaurants

Private box seats to a sporting event/concert. A lot of times (especially for a concert) if you call/email the arena staff directly and ask them if there are any seats like that available you would be surprised to find out there are and they just don't advertise them.

It's not like I'm swimming in cash, but I find it worth it (especially if it's a concert the kids want to go to) to shell out the extra money for private seats instead of sitting/standing in the crowd next to some drunk moron who can't stop spilling his beer and yelling all night.

If I want a drink spilled on me, hear screaming all night and miss most of the show I'll just stay home and ask my wife for sex.

Along those lines, first class ticket on a flight. This one is just because humanity fails at it's sole purpose of being human. Everyone thinks the flight is just for them and all the space is just for them, etc... Plus, I really don't want to talk to you if I don't know you. It's a long flight from PA to Vegas, I'll pay the extra $150 or so and sit up front.

Not worth it:

Spending a ton on a new car. Unless you spend a lot of time in your car I don't know why it's worth an extra $20K to have a nice paperweight in the driveway. I don't think everyone should buy a used junker, but I don't get the allure of a BMW outside of letting your neighbors know you spent too much on a car.

A new iPhone every year. WTF? My iPhone5 still makes calls, gets text messages and the apps run just fine. Sure eventually they will quit updating the software, but until then I don't see why people wait in line overnight to spend several hundred on a new one that does pretty much exactly what the one they have in their hand does.

On the course!
I told this story many years ago on here. Wife and I bought a five bedroom with a two acre yard. I hand mowed that fucker a couple times, and that was ridiculous. Friend owned a bar, and knew a guy.

Well, I hired the guy to mow. Came over and did a fine job, charged 40 beans, and was on his way. Next week, there he was again to mow. I was at work.

Hey another bill for $40. Now, it hasn't rained all week, so I was surprised he mowed. Next week, same story. Well, I saw my friend and mentioned it. He days, yeah......he mows every week. I said the yard didn't need It! He explained that's not how it works.

My buddy owned a bar, and this same guy plowed it for him in the winter. I said, "does he plow every week?" He said, of course not. Only when it snows.

There you go!

Every ten days

Don't you fertilize it? My lawn needs it every 5 days or I'm making hay.

I had a guy do mine the first 2 years here. $50 every 5 days gets expensive. I can buy a nice mower for a lot less and it takes me about 30 minutes. I do pay a guy $20 once a month to come by and weed whack. I hate fuckin weed whackers. I'll never touch another one.
