Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
With all that is happening in the USA, lets escape a little.

Most Enjoyable Physical Activities...

Doing the nasty doesn't count, most all of us participate in some way, shape or form.

Drinking or smoking a fine stoogie does not count as a physical activity, nor pushing buttons on VP machines (sorry Jack) correct me if I'm wrong on that one.

At 66 I am obviously not as active as I once was....the mind is willing, but the body is breaking down.

We all have a circle of friends we interact with in activities.
I quit golf, bad back and terrible swing (probably related)
Gave up biking, hard on Mr Prostate.
Gave up bowling, all my friends have lost interest.

I am fortunate in that I stumbled into a group of Co-Ed Water Volleyball Players. I was walking the pool about 6 years ago and they asked me to play.
We play twice a week at the local YMCA pool, 2-2.5 hours.

I was never gifted athletically in High School; but find I am a near superstar at Water Volleyball. Our players range in age from mid 30's to me mid 60's.

I walk both my dogs Lab and Havanese twice daily, I now work around the Oklahoma summer heat....sunrise and sunset walks, probably average a third mile a day at a good pace.

I enjoy starting out each day with a good ten minute stretch accompanied by good music in my upstairs fortress of solitude.

Least enjoyable activity....

mowing the lawn.... 2 weeks ago I hired a Mexican crew as I don't want to buck the Oklahoma heat and mosquitoes. I have cut the lawn with electric mower far too long... They are a fun group, they have recommended
canned Modello beer instead of my Bottled Dos Equis Especial.
Going to pick some up this weekend.

I also am in my mid-sixties. I walk about 3-4 miles most days and try to time my walk so I can listen to either the Brewers or the Twins baseball game on my headphones. Northern Wisconsin is beautiful this time of year, so walking outside is almost always pleasant.

My favorite pastime is playing 3-cushion billiards, and sometimes that can be physically exhausting, if I play long enough. Made my highest run ever about a week or so ago. 13.

Also, we babysit our two young grandchildren every Tuesday. When they go home, I am always worn out! Love every minute, though!

Sitting in my computer swivel chair and swiveling side to side.
When I'm really into it, I hold each swivel for a count of three.

Love walking 18 holes, good for about 5-6 miles each time. Do it at least once every week during summer months when days are long.

I know people will laugh at me but I remember thinking that this was the secret to life when I was 30.......now I am 54.........and I cant believe how much better I feel.......finding it again....

Ready................SWEATING............yes I said it..........I dont think enough people really SWEAT enough........

I was doing the treadmill for 45 minutes a day ........3 to 4 days a week the past 2 years......but I really wasnt sweating much because of a fan on the treadmill and I just wore really light clothes.......sometimes not even a shirt

About a month ago I decided to try something..........so I put on a light shirt with long sleeves......then I put on a warm up with a hood........tops and bottoms

Then did my 45 minutes...........results after a month.........Loss of about 15 lbs but what really amazed me is how much better my skin, mind and body felt and just a sense of overall well being.......

I also love to play golf and take walks at night with my dogs but I just dont sweat like I do when I started this........

Kind of silly maybe but maybe try it and see if it works for you.........and I am not running.......just walking at 3mph at a 2.5 incline while listening to music for 45 minutes.......but when I get done I am just drenched

For me it has also been an appetite suppresant as I am not really that hungry but I sure feel like eating better..........fruits, veggies and meat.........

I guess in a nutshell..............I believe we as humans dont sweat as much as we should.......when we are kids we do but as we age we don't really do it consistently............:toast:

i like kettlebell, i have three 26/44/70lbs (12/20/32kg).
it's easy to adjust how hard you want to train.
basic moves will take maybe 15-20 min /day.

keeps your back and posture in order

I've always enjoyed slathering up a pig with bacon grease and chasing her around the corral, or living room trying to catch her.

Golf. I love walking 18 holes. The course I belong to is long, so it is a solid 7 mile walk. Golf takes so much concentration that I forget about work and the other stresses, plus it is a great competitive outlet.

"What is your most enjoyable physical activities?"

Reaching in my wallet, paying for 18 holes of golf and waking to my golf cart.

Whew!
