In the last month life made a sudden turn. I was going in one direction, tail wagging, high fiving saying where's the party?!, and out of nowhere the peter pan voice got the hell beat out of it and a new perspective replaced it.

Time suddenly went from a day to day experience to preparing for the future. It's a new reality for me. Gambling isn't a priority, my buddies "fill in the excuse for going out" doesn't take priority, ....

it's a different perspective... it's about getting a leg up, having something, making my wife comfortable...

I dunno...

Anyone ever gone through this where all the sudden it's about.............. the family? :scared

Would be interested to know if any male has gone through this previously.

I'm not to that family part just yet Woody, but I have definitely had a turn around point recently. I don't go out, I'm concerned about my body and health so I don't have problems in the future. I guess working in an E.R. does that to ya.

After i had my kids. Still go out with the fellas once in a while, but find it more entertaining and fun watchin the little ones run around. Gambling took a back seat, still do the annual LAS March Madness trip. Have drinks at home. Feel better in the morning. LOL. I dont regret any of it. :)

happened to me when I was 23, but has not lasted continually since that point. Hopefully your wife is awesome like mine and WANTS you to go out and have fun with your buddies, go on trips, go to games, go gambling, play cards, go hunting, or etc. other things u like to do. My wife rocks, and wants me to do those man things b/c she knows that's what drives me and keeps me happy.

Woody: Sometimes it is healthy to get a shock to the system. I've had 3 things "slow" me down over the past decade and, while it seems weird to think they were a good thing, it is probably true.

Things will work out. In the grand scheme of things, this is just a blip.

Quite an interesting thread Woodson--

Attitude did a 180 after service---but putting priority on future vs present--prob around 45.
I think quiting bar scene around that period probably had lot to do with it.

Hey Woody,

Yep it does happen. But life is great even when 50. I have 5-6 more years busting my butt then its time for golf, travel, and fun as a retired guy.

BTW, for March Madness first 2 days, want to meet at the Cheetah 3 with 790thezone people? Bunch of my buddies will be there Friday all afternoon. Actually fun and the sights are nice as well.;)

Long day on the road but made it safely to NOLA. Was greeted at the Hilton with an ice cold Abita Turbodog. Going to clean up and head to DRAGO's for some bbq and rockerfeller oysters before hitting Pat O's.

Cie headed to the beach so won't be seeing him.

Will be a fun night anyways. Anyone else in NOLA? :0corn

Happy Friday!

#1 of many tonight... pictures on the strip for you... titties included! :00hour
