I was coaxed into joining Jacks by Pepin46 from the old AOL Boards. My screenname then was LV Smack because I used to smack arond the competetion.

When I came on board 3 and 1/2 years ago Thinking I wasn't going to be around for long I decided to go with a Spanish flair hence "Senor.

Those that aren't well educated take me for some old geezer (SENIOR) but I'm in the prime of my life.

About 6 years ago I was hanging out with a few buddies in one of their basements - and his father came down after a long night at the bar with some friends. Being the ballbuster that I am, I made a smart remark to him, and he turned around and said, "Steve Blackman is outside and he's going to kick your ass. It's time to put your money where your mouth is." I didn't even know what to respond to that, and ever since I've jokingly had the nickname "Blackman."

well it is not from the following:

2-Not Ed Norton character in Rounders

3-Not a Earthworm

It came in college when I ate the Worm at the bottom of a bottle of Tequilla at a Frat party-I was a Sigma Phi Ep boy.....the 44 part came from the number I wore in college

Heard Al McGuire at a Medalist Clinic my 1st yr as a varsity coach.
He said to about 500 coaches"how many of you coaches hate it when the other team throws a box and one against your best player.Raise your hand" 3/4 's of the room raised there hand.
Then Al said "why don't you do it to other people."List 10 things you hate that other coaches do to you.Press,traps,etc
Then learn those things and do it .
I ran the "box" for the next 23 yrs.Any team that played me had to prepare for half an hour attacking the box and one.
We ran different gimmicks on it and my nickname among my fellow coaches became "box".
Many times I didn't want to use it but threw it in anyway just so the opposing coach could tell his kids on the bus ride back"I told you guys they would run it".
But when I used it I always had the advantage.I practiced it for 15 minuts every day of the season.If you played me you only practiced against it prior to playing me.
We did run Triangle Two's.So I could be known as Triangle 2...like box and one better.

Nice story Box. When I was covering HS hoops up north, I would see an occassional box and one, but it was usually a girls game, where it was more likely that one great player could REALLY take over a game.

Skanoochies. Out here on the west coast of Canada, its just another term for greenbacks, bucks, simoleons, moola, etc. what we`re all trying to win from the book every week.

Great thread! Dudley is my first name and Stewart is my middle name and I just shortened it up a little. Whenever i'm making love to a lady, the Destinys Child song "say my name, say my name" goes through my head. Sometimes she says it and sometimes she doesn't.

Petey is actually my middle name and when me and my boys were younger we used to pretend that we were soldiers. Most of the time, the other guys made me play the "private". That still pisses me off a little bit.
