Only thing I know about Tinley Park is the outdoor music theater? what?s it called these days?
I?ve seen a few shows there but none recently.
I know Sicilian style pie, didn?t know it was also called Detroit style.
I?m in rural Iowa? the pizza here is tomato sauce on cardboard? fucking gross.
Iowa city is an hour away and there are several high quality pizza places there. Lived there for 15 years and still have many friends so I try and talk them into grabbing pizza when I?m over that way.

I thought it was now called First Midwest Bank Amphitheater (just rolls off the tongue right?) but looked it up and apparently since 2015 it's been called the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater. Once it changed from the Tweeter Center I just went back to calling it The World Music Theater, which was its original name.

Went to many concerts there from mid-90s to mid-00s: Van Halen, Aerosmith, Motorhead, Bon Jovi, Jimmy Buffet are all I can think of off the top of my head. Being familiar with the area I knew where to park that was just on the other side of where they blocked the roads off. It was about a 20-minute walk after the concert but beats the holy hell out of sitting in that parking lot for an hour plus.

Saw the Dead there a few times before Jerry passed away. The Mot?rhead show was intense. Saw Jimmy Buffett there once? which is twice too many? parrot heads are a strange breed...:mj07: other shows too, but can?t remember who...
And yeah, whatever the names were over the years? it will always be the world music center to me.
the parking lots there have to be the worlds worst! Wished I had known about where you parked? a 20 minute walk certainly beats the what seemed like hours sitting and waiting to get out of there.

Ventura, Ca.
I actually prefer something in-between the two. New York is awesome unless it's overcooked then it's shit.

Here's the thing...

My youngest is a classically trained Chef who's been all over this country,( a bit of a food snob), and he told me that he had Deep Dish Pizza in a Famous joint in Chi Town known for it....A meat and cheese filled Pizza he said that weighed a ton and tasted amazing.....

Downside was after eating everyone in the party was looking for a couch.... No one could move.

He was born bred in North Jersey where Thin Crust Pizza is the Boobies (ex. Park Tavern Pie), every time he visited during the year, we'd go from the airport right to that joint....

Place is a Dive, and I say that with the utmost respect.

I voted NY, but now home from golfing and that first picture of Chicago looks damn good when you are hungry. Last night had Angelas birthday and had 3 (sequestered over 20 days) kids over as well as a fiance'. Had not seen any of them. We had "make your own pizza on the Big Green Egg" night and had 6 pizzas on and off in 7-8 minutes each. All were thin crust Wewalka Bistro dough (from Kroger) stretched to each person's desire. Constant temp at 550-600 degrees and dough on parchment paper. Tremendous!

I've given Chicago-style several tries, especially now that it's readily available nearby. I've even had what many locals consider the best - Pequod's - and it's always been just okay for me.

I prefer New York-style by far. The best slice I've had besides NY was from this tiny 4-seater joint in San Fran.

However, THE absolute best pizza I have ever had was from this small joint in Venice - Ristorante Serenissima Pizzeria. Amazing!

Peace! :)
