Do you separate whites from colors?

Match the everyday socks? (Not dress socks)

Use fabric softener and dryer sheets or just one or none of the two?

Have a lint tap cleaner?

What goes into your detergent selection? Is it what your mom used, the ex, or the cheapest? Does fragrance drive your choice?

Oxi-Clean? Small scoop right into the wash cycle?

Do you use the soak option?

Do you go through every one of your pockets before you wash?

Do you dry everything or hang dry specific articles?

What's your average weekly dry cleaning bill?

Top or front loader?

You ever hand wash with woolite?

On the course!
I launder at the mat. Two loads at a time. I wash them according to what dries the fastest. Cottons and jeans in one machine, poly-blends in the other.

Arm and Hammer detergent, and two bounce sheets in the dryer!

Only time i recall using laundromat was about 20 years ago. I was living for a while with 3 friends in a 3 bedroom place. I had the couch. I had a girl over one night, so we slept in my roommates bed while he was away. Girl threw up in bed. I washed sheets, but comforter didnt fit in our washer. Had left my car at a bar night before, and the girl was long gone, so i rode my bike hungover carrying a large comforter in a black hefty bag to the nearest laundromat and spent about the two worst hours of my life while that thing washed and dried.

I liked the laundromat when living in Chicago in apartment. Had a couple machines in the basement but it took several loads and several hours. The soak-n-suds was great, like you said, just a couple loads ruining simultaneously and I could be done am be folded in an hour and forty minutes. The folding table were the shit.

TDFW,
Awesome post brother, FDC sort of has a lady, but she talks more than does chores. FDC's sort of lady needs a better listener

Did drying on delicate get them dry? Luckily you and I don't have to wear a lot of jeans. They take forever to dry

Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
I carry the dirty clothes hamper to the washer for my wife, and retrieve the finished items from the dryer and take it to the bedroom for my wife to process..

what happens in between is a near mystery.....

its worked well for 36 years......:SIB

Do you separate whites from colors? YES

Match the everyday socks? (Not dress socks) NOPE

Use fabric softener and dryer sheets or just one or none of the two? JUST FABRIC SOFTENER

Have a lint tap cleaner? DIDNT KNOW THEY MAKE A SPECIAL CLEANING TOOL FOR THE LINT TRAP. HAD TO LOOK IT UP. I JUST PEEL OFF THE LINT WITH MY HANDS.

What goes into your detergent selection? Is it what your mom used, the ex, or the cheapest? Does fragrance drive your choice? FREE AND CLEAR EVERY TIME. I TRY TO STAY AWAY FROM THE DYES AND PERFUMES. BAD FOR THE ALLERGIES.

Oxi-Clean? Small scoop right into the wash cycle? NOPE

Do you use the soak option? NAH

Do you go through every one of your pockets before you wash? HOPEFULLY I REMEMBER TOO! BUT EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE I SLIP UP AND FORGET

Do you dry everything or hang dry specific articles? DRY EVERYTHING MOSTLY. ONLY HANG DRY A COUPLE OF SHIRTS I DONT WANT TO SHRINK OCCASIONALLY

What's your average weekly dry cleaning bill? I GO ONCE A MONTH. USUALLY $12-24 DEPENDING ON IF THE WIFE GIVES ME SOMETHING OF HERS

Top or front loader? FROT LOAD WASHER/DRYER STACK

You ever hand wash with woolite? NO, BUT SHOULD I?

Hell yeah brother. I don't launder any of my collectible hockey sweaters. I do wash but not dry my game sweaters but that's because they're not worth a damn. Lol.

I do occasionally wear some of my autographed sweaters and jerseys and wash only in woolite, the same with a couple cashmere sweaters i wear when I go out with my mom as she gave them to me

I don't consider myself uppidy but TDFW just cringes at the thought of using a laundromat. Just hate not knowing what was in the washer and dryer before me :mj07:

I've been seeing a nice girl who's family owns a pharmaceutical company, but she wants to be a school nurse  She smokes pot and had her life in order, so we'll see if she's willing to do my laundry :mj07::mj07:

I hear ya. I wash, but definitely don't dry any of my authentic jerseys. Unfortunately, I don't have any that are autographed, but if I did, I'm not sure I'd have the guts to wash one with the ink of a player I really like on it.

I've got two really nice wool sweaters I haven't worn in over a year because I'm too damn lazy to do the whole hand wash and soak thing. Is there anybody here who's ever washed wool with some advice? Part of me doesn't want to mess them up permanently either.

FDC, you didn't ask the key question here. Who FOLDS their own clothes?

That's the worst part of doing laundry, IMO, and half the time I'm pulling my clean clothes out the hamper because I'm too damn lazy to put them away :mj07:

There are dry cleaners on pretty much every corner that charge 3-4 dollars to do that. Am I missing something here? In ATL, there are many places that do 10 pieces of dry cleaning for 20 bucks. Take in your sport coats, sweaters, ties, pants, and get the group discount. But, if not, then let the nice wool sweaters sit in your closet waiting for a moth to make a home. C'mon Man!!!! :0008

I do my own. I separate reds and wash everything in cold. I pair up all my socks after drying. No liquid fabric softener. Use Tide and Bounce fabric softener sheets, probably because it is what wife prefers. Front load dryer, top load washer. ~ $50 a month for dry cleaning. Everything is tumble dry except shit that says not to. No handwash with Woolite. I don't use Oxi-Clean but I do use 20 Mule team powder stuff and the Fels-Naptha bar to get out stains or handwash in sink.

I literally hang all of my clothes. Color coordinated, all white hangers.
