We finished ranked #3 (Rivals) and #5 (ESPN) by the recruting gurus. Not bad for his first year as head coach. I'll take it.

ND changed their early admission policy for Weis. Incoming freshman now can enroll a semester early and join spring practice.

I have heard, but it's far from documented that Weis has been given two academic exemptions for incoming freshman. Like I said it's only a rumor... May or may not be true.

Rivals has Notre dame #8. Well over half their class is 3* or less.

DD said ND was #3 on rivals and that wasn't true. I corrected him. I didn't try to make a point, nor did I ever say that Notre Dame did not have a good recruiting class this year. But don't let that stop you from thrashing your juvenile insults around yet another thread friend.

, I honestly call it a split title, because USC was ranked #1 after their bowl game, by a source that has crowned national champs since 1936.

-Agreed, its a split the BCS really screwed not only the schools involved but the fans as well because that would have been a great game. Auburn was fawked in the ass one year also. A playoff would solve so many issues and we would see some phenomenal games. (hmmmm, might have a future thread idea)

I don't count before '36, if I did, ND would have like 13 or 14, I'm not really sure. My point was basically that whatever system or count you use, ND has more than any other program.

-Once your again your right ND does hold some titles and their tradition is great but other schools have their history in football. For example, OSU had Paul Brown whom is consider a football great whom also had a big hand in making college football the national past time it is today. So its not like ND's on an island by themselves in that aspect.

I don't count before '36

-Why not? They still played football in that era. And yes the NFF wasn't a perfect system claiming co-champions but chit so does the BCS and AP. We still don't have it right so those teams claimed NCs by the NFF before 36' should be recognized too. And the NFF is the only thing that was consistent through that era used to crown a champion. So I think those titles should be included for both ND and OSU.

I have pride in the program

-As fan you should always have pride in your team. Especially with NDs great history and tradition. Under Weis this program is back and ND will make a run next season at the NC. Hence yesterday's results of recruits. I think the schedule is rather favorable for them next season. Depending on OSU's defense and Troy Smith we could possibly see a rematch of last years match-up. Where the Irish will have me a little nervous cause of Quinn.

I say ESPN is a better source for recruiting classes. You say "not even close". Then you list the "pecking order" for recruiting rankings. What makes YOUR opinion more valuable than mine? Its a subjective test, everyone uses whatever rankings they are more comfortable with.

Thats why it was ludacris for someone to criticize DD for saying ND had #5 class by citing their class as #8 instead.
