Wichita fun fact thread

i lived in wichita and stay with friends there for a night twice a year passing through. I lived on the only lake in town off of seneca. My dogs used to come back smelling like skunks once a week. I also used to own 5 greyhounds that raced at the dog track for one summer. Used to play alot of basketball in the old down town ymca. Shannon herschberger is still the massage therapist there i am sure. Barry Sanders parents who's son Barry the running back for the Lions bought them a grocery store, and when it did'nt make it a year later they publicly blamed the blacks in the community for not supporting the store which was in a very tough neighborhood and no-one wanted to go there after dark. Used to really gamble at a pool hall there, called shooters something. Dominos, pool, darts you name it, that was the midwest tour spot for gamblers. My book there 20 years ago got busted and was on tv getting arrested when my friends were watching it at my apartment and said"dave" is'nt that your bookie,lol His name was Walter, owned a bar, but i am sure he is passed by now. Had a fun year year there myself.
