I’m looking for your bowl pick of the year. Nothing showing up yet? I’ve zeroed in on a couple after Christmas.

As far as the Bowl Game of the Year, I've got my sights set on the CFP for next week. Two double digit favorites where the line's are off more than a TD, gotta do my due diligence!
Can't believe that asshole missed yet another field goal. 48 yarder and he left it SHORT. Then a 42 yarder wide. Then could have totally redeemed himself as they put it in the middle of the field for him....35 yarder and he missed that too.

I've always been in favor of players getting paid but the way their doing it is awful. I think we know that at least a lot of the high profile players have been getting paid behind the scenes for decades. But this NIL stuff has ruined it for the fans and the bad thing is that most fans are ok with it.
I've also always hated the process of firing/hiring coaches. If a good coach wants to jump to a better situation, the new team can just buy out the contract and then the coach abandons his team before the bowl game. And now the players do the same thing.
I wish the whole thing would collapse.

It's going to take someone with a lot of clout to turn how the NCAA does things around or a new leadership board needs to be formed, a new association to speak. Yes players have been paid even before many of us were born, baby boomers, but now, players knowing that didn't know in the lockerooms, I can just see it now. Some players will be resentful or more resentfuly than in the past because they won't be getting any $ and why should they block or play harder for that coach or the team when they're not being appreciated? The portal needs to be shut off until all bowl games are played, if coaches leave they can not take any players with them until the next school year and transfers can only transfer 1 time to be eligible to play right away, if a player transfers two straight years like Maalik Murphy just did, they must sit out that season 2025 and not eligible to play until fall of 2026. It's all insanity now and many players are playing knowing the lines, who's props are out, what they must run or receive as far as attempts or yards, etc., it's madness tbh. Then it makes some of us wonder if the players/teams are on the take when you have a game that has more flags, missed calls, etc going on. As a degenerate many times I've wanted to throw in the towel for football and basketball betting because of so many fixes it seems happening, moreso in football than in hoops, MLB? not as much but you wonder about some of the umpires when calling balls and strikes . It's all madness LOL!!
These are the last of the first posted plays I put out with the lines that were locked in then, lines have since changed, not as many portal players leaving for the teams other than Washington State, that line went from +4 to +16 1/2 to as high as +17, interim HC for Wazoo so far and 3rd string QB, Syracuse has been horrible in bowl games and this is Fran Brown's first, he's changed the culture and his QB wants to make a statement other than a big FU to Ohio State for treating him like a second class toilet flush!! Favs have gone like 13-2 overall, 2 OT games, live plays can drive one nuts, so pick your spots if you use any off-shore book like FD, DK, or whichever you use. Nebraska -2 1/2 - Ruhle is hungry for a bowl win for their program, Raoila rumored to head to transfer portal? WOW. Who's buying his way away from Lincoln? If that happens, Nebraska will get a QB out of the portal as Raoila faded after the first 5 games when film was on him. Bugeaters with the better "D" of the two teams, edge Huskers in Yankee stadium.

My sentiments exactly. Very well said! There is a lot to fix in college sports and I see it happening very, very gradually...just enough to keep fans sort of satisfied and the rest they'll use as drama that Rece and Herbstreit and Desmond, etc can argue about lol
One thing that I liked at first but has arguably contributed to the fixes or at least what looks like fixes is all the in-game betting. It seems that a little too often we see a team get a big lead, the other team comes storming back to take the lead...the whole time many are prob loading up on that team's nice ML payout...only to see the lead very short lived and all those hopes dashed.
Alabama/Georgia. Bama gets up 28-0 on 2-time nat'l champs. Then big bad Bama collapses and Georgia takes lead late?? One play later on a long pass where the guy is double covered....the 2 DB's collide into each other as the Bama WR catches and runs an extra 40 yards for the go ahead score? Give me a break! A lot of what I see on the field looks like scout team defense where they know what's coming and just "give a look". I see so many late reactions, bad angles, etc. DB's swipe at the ball a second too late to sell it. All the betting combined w the rules that hamstring defenses where clean hits can be called targeting....I hate it. I hated the dirty defenses of the 90's that would hit QB's late and spear guys etc. But it's gone way too far the other way. Remember Weurfel vs FSU way back in the day?
It is what it is....I think there are several variables and you have mentioned many of them and I do think betting is one as well that affects so many games. Like I say, I just try to bet on the right side and then watch and enjoy until something blatant happens lol.
