Alright first of all we are all losers having to sit through 4 of the most annoying and ignorant men in sports. Oh please dan patrick take it outside, enough dicky v, would somebody please punch that a$$hole stuart scott int he face, and i am sorry Portland Trailblazers personally offended you Steven A, but shut up about it already.

Losers come draft day are.....

I have to say everyone who passed on Marcus Williams after 3. What a mistake.

New York Knicks are losers. They pick Renaldo Balkman at 20, enough said.

Lakers..... Farmar? Really. Mr. No Defense Mr cant shoot. Mr isnt a very good passer. What is he good for again. Beside looking like a faun.

I mean there are alot of not great picks like Reddick for Orlando, who can be covered by 1, no not 2 or 3 guys like espn claims, by one longer reach player, which is almost everybody at the 2 and 3 in the nba.
Foye for Wolves is a worse fit than Marcus Williams and Roy, both of who I like.
Um the Sonics are silly for taking Sere whatever his name is.

But all in all i think everyone had very good picks.

Winners..... Nets.!!!!! They get 2 proven winners in Boone and Williams at 22 and 23. Steal of the draft at 22.

Suns. This is how bad Brian Grant is, the Suns traded on the best(not argueably) pg in the draft just to ditch his fat@ss. They are winners because they dont pick up any dead wieght and free up a ton of cash to keep the best offense in the league highly oiled and well payed.

Portland..... Yes steven A, Portland. You tell me I can have Aldridge and I am happy. then you say oh yeah you get Roy, and I say awesome. Then you say, oh you get two legit Euro leaugers, one of which is NBA ready, and I say wow I had a very good first round. When has steven a smith ever been right,

I know I talked earlier about Marcus Williams being a sleeper after #3. I said he was probably the most NBA ready gaurd and the best passer in the draft. I still stand by all those things.
Did anyone notice that Gay AND Armstrong (both lottery picks) only downsides were not assertive enough? I wonder why? Maybe because Williams ran the offense and got the ball to them when they needed it. UCONN was not a 1 on 1 offense under williams. He avg 9 assists!
The knocks on him, he is out of shape. No shaq is out of shape, williams was in shape enough to outrun the most talented team in college(uconn) and did everyone forget him playing big minutes and coming alive late in the 2nd?!?! He wasnt huffing and puffing. Lets see I got a guy who is the best pg in the draft and is proven he can lead talented winners and all I have to do is tell him to hit the treadmill. What is harder learning your place in the game(many players, Roy,Carney, FOYE), learning offensive skills(Thomas), learning defensive skills(Morrison, Reddick), building significant strength and muscle(aldridge, Bargnini,Thomas, many others) or hitting the treadmill(Williams).

What a great and interesting draft, and I think there will be alot of players that will surprise us as being duds so high of picks, but there will be alot of other players that will play serious minutes that are scattered all the way into the 2nd round.

Hope you guys all have a great night.

Winners-
--- Memphis had a huge draft. How do you get Rudy Gay (and Stro Swift as a throw-in) for Battier? Battier is a solid player, but Houston must be pretty convinced that they can compete for a title in the next couple of years to not only pay Battier 8 mil a year but give them a great young prospect with arguably the best talent in the draft for that contract. I also like Lowry and Alexander Johnson is a good pickup in round 2.
---- Portland. I do agree that all the trades were unnecesary, but Telfair isnt a good NBA point guard and they essentially wound up with Brandon Roy for him, who IS the best player in this draft. They also got Alldridge, who I dont love, but think will be solid for a long time (Like Tyson Chandler..)

Losers-
--- Boston- Like I said, I dont get the Telfair trade. Havent they watched this guy play? They could have had Foye, Roy, Gay, their pick, or Telfair. And they pick Telfair? Huh? At least they got rid of my boy LaFrentz (who is a damn good guy, not that it matters).
--- Knicks- I dont get them either. The Balkman thing is getting beaten to death, but honestly why not take Williams? I agree with you BLG, he will be a good NBA player. Not sure if he was worthy of a top 5 pick, but he was definately top 10 worthy, and he just fell into Isiah's lap and he picks this dude? I watched him several times in college and he never really stood out except for his goofy hair. Is that what you want at #20?

As for my T-Wolves... not sure what to make of their draft...

Why not just hold onto Roy? I didnt get that. They have a big hole at SG (with McCants out) and the best prospect in the draft has just fallen to you, and you trade him for the pick behind him and cash? Then again, Foye could be a player. And he is the kind of player that Casey likes (although Casey cant coach, so I dont know what that is saying).
I liked the Craig Smith pick, but not sure he will make the roster... i've said it before put undersized 4's almost always get ushered out of the league very quickly.

Curious of what you thought about the T-Wolves, BLG. You are one of the only other 'draft-nik' types on here, i think.

BLG you forgot to mention the hawks picking up ugly shelden williams. lol

anyway here is my thoughts:

toronto is gamblin with their euro pick. But hey if that is their way of thinking, I don't blame them.

Would have thought ALridge would have fit better in Chicago./ Now you got 2.0 ppg chandler and a new stromile swift player. Scott skiles must be wanting a poor mans rasheed/ben wallace tandem.

Morrison to bobcats? anyone think bobcats got him for more exposure for the bobcats franchise? those nascar fans mite tune in now.

Houston is retarted giving up rudy gay for battier. Why deal with Jerry West?

JJ reddick will struggle in NBA, but being with Orlando is a good fit in my opinion. He will be a shorter kyle korver.

Dee Brown going 2nd round to Utah, reuniting with deron williams.

Jayhawk- Are you a twolves fan too? Lets see you are a fan of Kansas and The Timberwolves, I think we were seperated at birth. I was writing down the twolves as losers for dropping williams and roy and pickin up foye(and they say williams is overwieght), but then they announced they picked up craig smith in the 2nd round who I loved in college and so i consider it a wash and can only pray that it works out for them. I can only hope mcants comes back midseason and is healthy and doesnt amare us. He really was hitting his stride at the end of last season.

Spurs- I didnt agree with torontos pik at first, but after listening to colangelo say that they are spreading the floor and he says this guy is the best in the draft at that then it started to make more sense, of course if it was anybody besides the guy who turned around pheonix into an offensive beast I would say he is foolish.

I didnt even notice the nuggets picks, or spurs picks, or detroits picks, i thought this was 4 and half hour coverage of the trailblazers roster clearance sale.

If you thought Scott talking to williams about his computers stealing was funny, then you must have pissed your pants when he talked to reddick about his dui. "Im going to do community service whether the judge wants me to or not" - yeah right j.j.

They should probably hire a GM soon - that would help... ridiculous - we'll probably lose Nene this summer and we're pretty much stuck with Martin (who wants him?) so they better work out their bickerings... but as far as the draft, was there really anyone worthwhile taking with the Nuggets pick? No, in my opinion...so might as well dump it.

Memphis did very well.

agree about dropping brian grant, btu disagree a bit with decision. steve nash wore down in the playoffs and cannot continue to play 40 min a game for this group. i would have liked to see pho get a backup pg.

I love williams and i like pho more than most teams, so i thought it would have been great to see him there, I think it speaks volumes for Brian Grant though, whata disease he is. I am quoteing SpursD on this one "Brian Grant is a thief..... stealing owners money everywhere he goes"

Hawks taking Sheldon Williams at #5 was a terrible thing.

We were all hoping that it was just a rumor.

Another forward/center that cant play center.

And still no point guard.

Hawks tank again 2007

-?

Houston does feel like they can win now if T-Mac stays healthy. Battier does not make 8 million. He makes 4.9 and Stromile makes $5.1. The Rockets feel like Swift is dead weight. He does not fit Van Gundy style half court ball. Rudy Gay would have NEVER taken a roll of being the 3rd option at best on a team. Houston wants solid role players to play around the 2 stars. Battier fits that perfect.

The one knock on the deal was that Houston should have tried harder to get the 24th pick from Memphis because Houston still needs depth.

If Rudy Gay was the best young prospect they why did 7 other teams pass on him.
I think Memphis did make a good deal, but Houston got what they wanted and needed in the longrun. A even salary trade for a guy who will help and they remove a guy who wasn't in their plans(Stro).

Yeah, dude... I am from Minnesota and go to the U of Kansas... so naturally, my two favorite teams are the J-Hawks and T-Wolves... I didnt know you were a T-Wolves fan... How did that come about? I hope you are right about Smith.

Thanks for the correction... One of the ESPN talking heads said he made $8 mil, I just assumed that was the truth, but I will take your word for it...
Also, I didnt say Gay was the best prospect in the draft, I actually said that Roy was. I said that Gay had the most talent, which I think everyone would agree on. He certainly isnt the best prospect because he seems indifferent on the court. I know why 7 teams passed on him... there were good players who worked their asses off in front of him with no character issues... so there you go...

Nuggets extended Melo's contract for 5 years, now if we can wrap up Nene things won't be looking so bad...

Nuggets are trying to get Bonzi, might have to do a sign and trade w/ Kenyon Fartin.

If the nugs retain Nene and trade Fartin for Bonzi I would definitely be into that :thumb:
