Dude...you seem to be missing the whole point of the original post. Yes the Italians are known world wide as the biggest dving panzies....but that is not the issue....over 90% of soccer players are actors....but my point was the refs are determining too many games and they need to correct the situation....video review would be nice....yellow cards for diving even better. In WC cup 2002, Italy had a huge protest (against host Korea) because the referring knocked them out......and they may have been right....but nothing has changed.....the moronic refs are still influencing results....and it makes the game a joke on credibilty. The thing is, I knew this would happen before it started....and even with only 8 teams left, it will happen again. If you want specific instances, just read all the complaining posts that fellow MJers have been posting since day 1. The WC is so overrated because it gets interest from countries that don't even have another 'real sport'. Think I'm wrong?????....maybe but how many North Americans change the channel during a game...but they wouldn't do it during an NFL or World series playoff.

I love soccer....as a player...but as a spectator...it sucks because of diving wimps, chitty refs......and lack of scoring......but you do get the odd game that is good to watch. I.E. I'm gong to go out on a limb and say I look forward to Germany /Argentina.

An Australian has been arrested in Italy for an assult on a local man, after
the World Cup soccer match between Australia and Italy.
Witnesses say the Aussie fan was 20 metres when the incident happened.

The victim suffered a fractured skull, cardiac arrest, brain damage and
developed diabetes as a result of the incident.

He is expected to recover in a few minutes.

;)

(Had that in my inbox this morning. :mj07: )

Yea...we haven't even touched on the lame-brain losers that use soccer as an excuse for hooliganism (just criminal thugs in reality)......but I get the intended humour (you got to admit it's a bit lame)....but point well taken.

Ok...let's get this one straight;
Portugal diving all thru the match and Rooney gets a red card for a love shove to his friend and regular teamate (Ronaldo).....who took a dive on that play. Yeah right! Anyone else and Rooney would've walked away or really clocked him (which would deserve a red). I previously posted that England wins or loses with Rooney's hot-headed antics but that was ridiculous. And then Carragher's PK gets called back and of course Ronaldo scores the winning PK.

One note; Notice the 1 out 4 England PK goal was from the Canadian (Hargreaves).
