Better that Parnevik withdrew before starting.... wondering about putting it on Davis Love III instead..... multiple winner here.... but can't find any 66/1 and the 'rule' writer hasn't disclosed if the rule is re-written again!!!!!.... come on Clive... what's the latest official line? Tell me on a need to know basis.... I need to know.

Matchup plays:

Kevin Sutherland to beat Craig Perks -115 @ Cascade
Fully expect Perks' TPC hangover to continue. Two missed cuts since that surprising victory and probably three this week. He missed the cut last year in his only appearance in this event and languishes much lower than Sutherland in the Tour driving accuracy and greens in regulation stats, both of which will be important this week.

Frank Nobilo to beat Kent Jones -111 @ BetandWin
Course experience is important in this event and while Nobilo had played here every year since 1996, making three of his last four cuts, Jones will make his debut here this week. With Nobilo having a 5-2 head-to-head record over Jones in common events this year, he gets the nod.

Love was 25 on Monday with Sporting Odds, but that's long gone...certainly not my money.

The rule has certainly been reinstated, although it will have to be looked at again if his price starts to creep up!

Always bad news when people on here agree...usually means a skinner will win, but fwiw, I'm with

Mediate 40
and
Verplank 33 (40 Centrebet)

so knackered after last week that it's difficult to raise too much enthusiasm...on the whole a very profitable week, but could have been so much better if Tiger hadn't interfered!

Clive,
Be honest.... I bet it was your money!

I have decided to pass on Davis... though I am not condoning the rule... Davis has done well for me in the past (though not always).... rules are bad... instead... free your mind. Just imagine if Davis was in a 3 ball with Sam Snead & Arnold Palmer... you would have to back him.... no matter what the price... and although you would be on the edge of your seat near the end as he frittered away a few shots and the others closed the gap... he would probably still win... as long as he kept his head on!

Bmad Depends on the odds.:)Making cut at masters brings him 50/50 to date on cuts made.Between he and Duval they have missed 9 cuts in 21 attempts. If not for his course form I would give the +340 to miss cut@ WSEX a roll.

Between Green Bay and Iowa City
Matchups and Groups
YTD: 27-24 (+2.23*)
Outrights and Propositions
YTD: 3-21 (-2.90*)

The first benchmark of the 2002 season has been passed and Mr. Woods continues to mow down everything and everyone in his sights. What a bloody mess he left in his wake this time.

On Friday I'm off to Phoenix through May 1. I'll be staying with it, that's for sure, even if I am only lurking.

This week, since Faxon(-130) over Daly isn't available at any of my books, I'll be playing these:

72 Hole Matchups @ 1*:
Verplank(-135) over Cink @ Olympic
Kendall(+105) over Riley @ Olympic

72 Hole Group @ 1*:
Cabrera(7/2) over Funk/Langer/Kelly/Lehman @ Bet365

Outrights @ 0.30*:
Price(33/1 Win; +750 Show) @ 5dimes/Olympic
Verplank(35/1 Win; +800 Show) @ 5dimes/Olympic

Just keeping things interesting @ 5dimes:
Kendall(100/1); Hart(70/1); Sluman(70/1); Donald(100/1); Cabrera(38/1)

from local paper

Nick Faldo, the 1984 Heritage champ, withdrew from this week's field prior to leaving the Masters. This will be the first year the five-time major-championship winner has not played at Harbour Town since 1994.

Faldo, who is not playing on the PGA Tour this season, qualified for the Heritage as a past champion.

Jesper Parnevik, Frank Lickliter and Peter Lonard also withdrew.

Bob Burns, Ben Crane, Tim Petrovic and John Riegger were added from a list of alternates to keep the field at 132.

adding a 72 hole @ $plays
Langer -110 vs Daly

Langer not playing up to last year standards and on paper it appears a no play however I think small greens will be a plus for Langer and with a couple of sharp books,Oly and Cascade having Langer @ -135 confirms that there may be some value here.

DOGS,
Looks like Daly walked off after 14 holes, don't know why - but that should make the Langer play hold. I loved that m/u playing it for 5 units at +100. I noticed it steamed up to as much as Langer -150 last night. Also loved Garcia -150 over Howell which moved a lot as well, but CH3 has evidently come out of his putting slump, so that one may turn sour. Does DL3 love this course, or what? A smooth 62 to open up!

would normally look to oppose a player after a 62, but cannot get excited about either Clark or Maggert to turn over Love..can anyone else? Cannot see Maggert, so only leaves Clark, he shot a 67 at Phoenix in 2nd rd, so might dabble if price is right...

Buck: Daly claimed rist injury but truth be known he spit the bit and was gone anyways.

Going on 3 72 hole continuations at Oly
Leonard -115 over Flesch currently tied
Just hedging

Garcia -115 vs Howell currently 2 down
Garcia has beaten Howell 4 of 5 events in common looking for same.

Mick +135 vs Love currently 3 down
Mick has trounced Love last 5 in common and despite Loves course form here and steller rd yesterday it was his 1st time to bust 67 this year with 7 rds 75 or over.He has had twice as many rds in 70's as 60's (22-11) this year and I'm not letting 1 rd persuade me he has a change of heart.

We are on the same wavelength this week DOGS. I already had a modest stake on Leonard vs CH3 before they started and last night I played the Mick v DL3 continuation when it was +155. I didn't play it that hard that it should have dropped to 135 on u tho, LOL! I also liked the Hoch+110 v Lehman continuation. I could sure use a Howell tumble this weekend. I usually struggle with capping the week after a major, so I'm leary of what the weekend will bring.

Mid-point update:

Quigley/Staton LOST by 6
Lancaster/Glover WON by 10
Sutherland/Perks WON by 3
Nobilo/Jones WON by 2

Verplank 8th
Mediate mc
Price 40th

Decent tournament so far with all four matchups completed and a victory in the all-important 3-unit play. A chance of some return with Verplank though Price has quite a distance to catch the top-5 and Mediate has never looked like making the weekend.
