Billy,
I hear ya bro, I came to Houston in Nov. and was gone by March the next year, I just could not stand going out after 12pm, unless it was necessary (talk about culture shock). I took a gig in Austin and was able to get used to the weather of Texas there. The reason I am back in Houston is because of my wife, her family lives here, youngest daughter in the family and she has a job here. Believe or not you do get used to it, I have lived in Texas since 1995. I noticed a funny thing about myself about a year ago, I travel a lot for biz. I arrived @ IAH walked outside on a nice July day and was refreshed from the humidity, when I feel it - it means I am home. I never thought that I would feel like that. I did have some very large incentives to move to Texas, it started out as a 6 mo. contract. An old boy I worked with said "be careful Texas will grow on you", low and behold 6 yrs. later: bought a house, married, kid etc. I consider myself a Texan by proxy
