ryson, holly sheite, you moved from the Bay area to the Devil's
armpit.....????.....talk about a weather shock.....how bout those
hot summer days when the temp hits 105 and the humidity hits
120.....take a shower and 5 minutes later you are worse than
before you took the shower........just ribbing you a little....not
trying to be a smartass......:)

Billy,

I hear ya bro, I came to Houston in Nov. and was gone by March the next year, I just could not stand going out after 12pm, unless it was necessary (talk about culture shock). I took a gig in Austin and was able to get used to the weather of Texas there. The reason I am back in Houston is because of my wife, her family lives here, youngest daughter in the family and she has a job here. Believe or not you do get used to it, I have lived in Texas since 1995. I noticed a funny thing about myself about a year ago, I travel a lot for biz. I arrived @ IAH walked outside on a nice July day and was refreshed from the humidity, when I feel it - it means I am home. I never thought that I would feel like that. I did have some very large incentives to move to Texas, it started out as a 6 mo. contract. An old boy I worked with said "be careful Texas will grow on you", low and behold 6 yrs. later: bought a house, married, kid etc. I consider myself a Texan by proxy:D

Omaha, Nebraska
Omaha - Taint no doubt

Omaha - Taint no doubt

Well, I understand that we our not probably even in consideration
to be in the running in this list.

Hell, to call this a city is pretty much a reach.

My point exactly !!

Okay, we got the Omaha Royals ( AAA )

Beyond that we have the Beef ( Arena Football )
Lancers ( Minor League Hockey )

To that point we have just lost the Lancers, because they will
now be called the River City Lancers, as they move
into Council Bluffs next year.

How much worse can it get, we lost a franchise to Council Bluffs.

Christ the Quad Cities are even killing us. Last look they
even still had a Basketball team.

God, we really do suck.

Of course during the football year we have Lincoln which
on Saturdays when the Huskers play becomes the biggest
city in the state. Yeah, I know another reach !!

Don't get me wrong, we have the one week during the summer
when the College World Series comes to town.

So we are then left to be fans of other real cities major sports
franchises. Denver to the West, not so close, and lately not
so good. It isn't like you hear anyone around these parts
saying, "How bout them Rockies".

Okay, North we head. Twins, Vikings, T'Puppies, and the Wild. . One they want to get rid of the other, one they can't give away, one that the people live there do not support, and the other replaces a team they once had, but had already left before.

East, to Chicago. Okay other than the Bulls and latley they
bring an entirely new meaning to the word - SUCK !!
It ain't exactly any closer than Denver. God I really do understand
the meaning of isolation.

South, KC a great place to visit, but the Big Royals resemble the
little ones we already have minus Bucky Dent.

Christ, I'm now even more depressed than I was before starting
this. Even the teams that are not close, are not so good.

You all know the rest of the story.
I will be the guy in the bell tower with my therapist on speed
dial, remembering that I use to live in Chicago before any one
was good, from Milwaukee when the Bucks were good.
Sacramento before the Kings were good. Hell they sold out when they sucked. Denver when and where the words "Long Ball"
was defined.

Sorry, what was that Dr. Udderlycowlike ?"

"Yeah, I know it could be worse. but Kansas and South Dakota
are to damn close, and it is raining today."

Nothing like knowing you sucked yesterday, you suck today,
and looking to the future you will still suck tomorrow.

Taint, no doubt !!! Omaha !!!!!!!!!!

How can it not be Milwaukee?

How can it not be Milwaukee?

1. The Bucks were the most disappointing team in the NBA this year (expected to go to the conference finals - doesn't even make PLAYOFFS?!?)

2. The Milwaukee Brewers - the worst team in baseball - they can't even hit the ball - so if you go to the game, you don't even see any action (other than the other team hitting HR's)...

'Nuff Said...

I wasn't going to consider you, but now that I know you have an Arena team named the Omaha Beef, I'll give it to ya....especially when you throw in K.C.'s teams..........it's gotta be Omaha ;)

North of Titletown AKA Boston
Hartford, Ct.

Hartford, Ct.

They HAD the Whalers but they moved...then again that might be a good thing!

They had a deal with the Patriots for them to move there, until Bob Kraft (owner of Pats) came to his senses and decided he'd rather build a stadium in Foxboro, Ma with his own money, than accept a sweetheart deal from Hartford!! :moon:

**EDIT** I am giving myself an Incomplete grade for this assignment! Also "Fails to follow Directions"
The Topic was this year, although it still sucks if your a sports fan in Hartford, these things that I listed did not happen THIS Year.

Hartford does get my vote for worst sports city to live in Hall of Fame!!
