I am with you, I like Virginia in this game. UVA was 4-2 ATS last year at home and Al Groh figures to have this team in better shape than they were a year ago. Couple of other minor reasons but right now my lean is VA laying the 2.

CSU are a bunch of nobodies....they havent played an ACC team since...well shit I went all the way back to 85 and didnt see any. Point is this...and it will be in my write up....Virginia has the best WRs in the nation...McCulley is gonna shatter all sorts of records and he did awesome last year...even won me some money on prop bets. Virginia has a pro offense where they line up 3 WRs all the time...they bring in a 4th sometimes. Now tell me this...can CSU handle that...answer is hell no. Look at CSUs history...they cannot stop the air game. BYU - Fresno - Lousiville<~~all last year. All had fast speedy recievers. On top of that...they will be going to hot, mugy, damp ass Virginia. Gimmie a break

Hellah-

Also some points to consider:shrug:

game being played at night and forecast for Thursday night is high 60's.

Virgina is young, going to be playing 10-15 true fresmen in this game.

Colorado State has the better coach, better QB, better Rb's and Lb's.

I agree that the Cavs have a good crop of receivers but am not sure how effective their QB will be early in the season and Col St is going to keep the Cavs D on the field a lot because of their dominant running game. The Cavs will not be able to stop the run versus the Rams.

Good luck, looking forward to your write up.:D

note well taken...Iam aware of the young boys starting...if there is one thing to know about college football...its FOR SURE home field advantage. This is the one sport that home field counts in every aspect...Virginia has great fans, great support.

also dont be to sure of that running game...CSUs OL is thin and will have to face the tough Virginia Linebackers.

I also heard that Cecil Sapp is hurt

They better be quick because they're small---starting DEs both 6-3, 245 and 255 (sounds like us last year when we regularly got ours knocked off the line), DTs 6-2 270 and 6-3 285. Luzar's as big as the DEs, Estes and Miller bigger, which one of the DTs wants to handle Brown? Should be no need for double teams. Virginia might be running a lot more than predicted.

nor have they played anybody in the Sun Belt. Don't see the point. They've beaten Colorado and Michigan State in the pat 3 years.

Virginia has the best WRs in the nation...McCulley is gonna shatter all sorts of records and he did awesome last year...

I can't figure out for the life of me why McMullen stayed for a lower-level ACC program. He is a stud. He does give the Rams matchup problems but 6'4" receivers do that to anybody. But somebody still has to get the ball to him and Schnaub is well. . . A Virginia QB.

even won me some money on prop bets. Virginia has a pro offense where they line up 3 WRs all the time...they bring in a 4th sometimes. Now tell me this...can CSU handle that...answer is hell no. Look at CSUs history...they cannot stop the air game. BYU - Fresno - Lousiville<~~all last year.

what impressed you about the 7 points that Louisville scored against CSU. or the 22 points that Fresno scored in regulation?

All had fast speedy recievers. On top of that...they will be going to hot, mugy, damp ass Virginia. Gimmie a break

If your going to play a 3-4 you better have a NG that can fill the bubble on both sides of him between the guard and the tackle. UVa brings a frosh.

If you're gonna rush Van Pelt you better bring a mush rush or his legs will kill you. Frosh starters all over the defensive line in their first game. National Television. and they're going to stay in their lanes rushing the QB?

Look forward to the writeup. Keep it non-fiction, though:)

Also Virginia is going to a 3-4 defense...so there will be an extra linebacker and SS. That`ll be the weak side help for CSUs running game. I did hear Cecil Sapp might be out...but for the life of me, i cant find that damn link.

Yes they did hold them to 7 points...what really pissed me off that game was I had Louisvile -6

But little did we know that Dave Ragone had a fawked up pinky. Lousiville had 4 turnovers that game...3 of them were unforced...Colorado St D was just at the right place at the right time. But Colorado St is only returning 6 starters back from last years D...in fact...IMO I think this will be the smallest DL Virginia will face all year long.

Someone made a comment about the game being nationally televised. What station would it be on? I looked in my tv guide and couldn't find it. Granted, I'm in the middle of ****ing nowhere but I still get all the normal channels.

CSU are a bunch of nobodies....

csu has always been a bunch of nobodys and they have always travelled well with time to prepare under sonny lubbick.

theyve covered their opening game 4 straight until last year with colorado after colorado lost to underated carr and the boys at fresno st. also bigtime revenge for cu losing the last two to meek little csu in the previous 2 mile high games.. add to that the qb questionmark with csu last year and van pelt comming in to mop up a nightmare created by d.j. busch.

csu is always a barker as a dog therefor the line i think..plenty of money commin in late on the home crowd and i would guess va is favored by 3 to 4 before gametime... all that doesnt matter when csu wins a squeeker with special teams and preperation.

interesting of course is va has fla st. next week and csu has cu again with a game under their belt.

good coaches with preptime aka peterno are always live as dogs in my book.ive only glanced at this game but wouldnt call virginia free money at this point whatsoever.

thats just a brief budweiser synopsis but i would lean under also so fade me and be safe :D gl withe kickin .. csu 23 uva 17

Of course CSU has Van Pelt...but what good is a QB when you dont have anybody to throw too  They lost all of there WRs to the NFL. Game time is everything in football - trust me from personal experience.

Also I see you mentioned they covered there last 4...well they were against rival Colorado....now ask yourself....If your CSU do you get more pumped up for Virginia or Colorado?!?!?! Sure the coaching ideal is you should be pumped up regardless...but lets get real - It happens here in Ohio and up in Michigan. (Not to get off subject) For example Michigan St would rather beat Michigan then lets sayyyy Florida...ask anybody in East Lansing...no better yet I`ll do ya better...I`ll ask them myself - as I have many times. I just find it hard to believe that CSU will be more pumped up for this rather then Colorado (which explains my theory of the trend covering 4 straight the last 4 years). It happens here in Toledo too - we care less for Ball St (which is why they always beat us  ) but we would give up anything to beat Marshall

But I do understand your point...and as always, its always appreciated :D

Hellah:

I've watched you over the years, and love the insight you dish out on the MAC. One thing though...You don't have to respond to every person going the other way. You've more than made a solid argument in favor of Virginia. You're not going to change anyones mind that's already sold on the Rams. Let them read into all the stats, and trends for CSU. This is the here and now, and none of that has anything to do with Thursday night's game.
By the way, you're dead on with UVA!!!!
