Appreciate a good defense for sure. But as far as I know the team that scores the most points wins the game. Don't know why more people are not concerned with the dismal WVU bowl record. There is no reason for ANY team to perform so poorly year in and year out in bowls. DOn't think that WVU is not a good team, just think Georgia is better on most fronts.

Due to the new QB starter for WVU this is prolly the best offense that we've seen from WVU in a while....However, I'm unsure of WVU's deffense....If UGA can slow down the offense they win...if this game goes into a shootout which I think it will WVU will win out right....

Tale of two dawgs

If the UGA squad from the regular season shows up, WVU has a chance to cover but it will still be close to the number. As ferdville mentioned a backdoor cover.

If the UGA squad that played last week in the championship game shows up, this game is going to get UGLY.

Louisville's Defense is pretty weak in comparison. They only played one ranked team (correct me if I'm wrong but WVU was their only ranked opponent) and still managed to give up over 300 yards per game.

Kentucky put up 24 and South Florida put up 45 against them. they did manage to hold Rutgers to 5, though (which means their O-line gave up a freaking safety to the mighty Scarlet Knights).

With Georgia's experience in the dome and their recent confidence coming off of a big win against LSU, I would lean towards UGA in this game.

But that's just another homer talking.

p.s. ferdville -- i have USC demolishing UT for the championship if that means anything.

Dawgball,
I am an Auburn fan.
You are way more consevative on your team than I am. If there was one team in the sec that I wouldn't want to play again, or at all, its the dogs. Great D, VERY dangerous QB, the receiver named muhammed, Blue, etc.etc. Think ya'll are very stong.

The thing that is so hard about shockley is its not like he is a bad passer, he is actually a very good passer, and we all know about his running ability.

If his name was D.J. VICK, he would get much more praise. I would take shockley over marcus any dayof the week.

The more I think about this game the more I grow wary of WVU....But the reason why I like them so much is because UGA will face an offense that they haven't faced at all in the SEC....WVU QB is going to run run run and be making little screens and will pick up yards...Everyone saw what happend with that kid from Texas A and M runnin all over Texas....What I am very worried about is they're deffense....I've been watching WVU all year and they're deffense worries with me.....I actually think that UGA has the better defense and like I preach I think there is something to be said about a team with a good deffensive squad in a bowl game.

With that said I still think WVU has what it takes definately have a shot at winning and covering....but UGA has a decent chance of doing the same with an edge on deffense.....Prolly put a small play for WVU to cover prolly a ~$30-$50 play....My reasoning is that UGA doesn't have the expereince against this type of offense of WVU.

florida runs some sets that are very similar to the west virginia shotgun spread option. so georgia has seen an offense that resembles wvu's. obviously, in terms of volume and amount of times they run the football, florida doesnt compare. but in principle, its the same thing. i think this is an impossible game. its damn tough to go against wvu right now, but georgia has seen everything wvu is going to throw at them. and wvu's physical play is nothing they havent seen before.

So. Cal
I dont know why anyone is sweating this game.I absolutely would love georgia to lose this game because it would give me another chance to toot my "sec overated" horn another time (im almost outta breath though) BUT ...... westvu is not going to win this game becuase they have played nobody that good this season (or i should say have beaten anyone good this year) and georgia has played in a few big games.

That being said I like wvu and have made alot of money betting with them this year. AND I hate georgia and sec fans that are obviously blind or just liars about their bias, but Gerogia wins this game and like VaTech did to WVU, in their biggest game of the year, will beat them by double digits.

I'm going to have to disagree with you Gman on this one....what happend when UGA saw the likes of the FL offense.....UGA ends up losing.....and since WVU will run 10 fold more volume this doesn't look good for UGA deffense....UGA has not seen anything like WVU on offense....with that said WVU has seen VT on deffense so yeah they will be ready but I still think UGA has the ability to score a lot of points on WVU...I agree that this is a very hard game to cap....and I will give UGA the edge due to their deffense.....

Don't be surprised if WVU scores a lot of points....could be an over type of game...

Yes, Adam Bednarik was the starter at QB for WVU in that game. Pat White led the 4th quarter comeback (down 17) vs. Louisville and has been the starter ever since. WVU is averaging over 40 points per game with White as the starter.

Remember the layoff. It always hurts the "hot" team. WVU was a hot team, well on its way to their second loss before the miracle comeback against Louisville. With almost a month to be idle, team with better, faster athletes will win. Give Georgia some big game credit too. Tough, primetime matchups against Auburn and LSU this year, as well as some dogfights against Florida and Tennessee. They can win good, bad, ugly, however they have to get it done.

When it comes down to bowl games, the teams that were tested a couple times have more success. Besides the Louisville game, WVU hasnt been in any dog fights. They dominated most games, and were dominated by VT. Huge Georgia edge here.

I think UGA -- anything under 10. Look for WVU to play this game down 7 most of the first half, and I see them losing by up to 3 TD's. Not sure if it gets much uglier than that, but I wouldnt let a back door cover stop ya from takin the bulldogs b/c they dont play Atlanta Falcon defense. They finish games.

Matter of fact, I can just see it now. UGA goes to the half up by 7, and all the commentators are saying, dont count WVU out, remember the comeback against Louisville. Double your profits and take UGA at halftime too.

Both teams are hot D, so I think that it hurts both respectively. On the other side of the spectrum, be careful about what you say with White not playing first half in the VT game....He came in and started the comeback. I've said it before, this team is much different in volume when it comes to running offense than any team UGA has seen this year. This is due to White. The edge I will give to UGA respectively because white is a sophmore, and Shokey is a 5th year senior. However, when White takes off this will make for either 1st downs or short screen plays for first downs and honestly UGA has not seen that from any team accept Florida in which they lost. In the FL game Shokley was idle, so with that said this should be an interesting game. If White comes to play this could be an over lock and turn into a high scoring match because face it, both teams can put up points and are great competitors.

I just can't hold out and not give credit to what White has done with this WVU offense. I just can't say that UGA has a huge edge in this one....WVU is going to come to play....I'm a little biased being a big east student however.

I'm only gonna play this game if I'm doing very well by that point, so I will wish ya luck.

One HUGE factor in bowl games is the level competition a team has faced all season long. True WVU saw two great teams in Louisville and VT, but besides that, WVU's games were played against teams that just arent as athletic as the competition Georgia faced all season. Now if WVU had beaten either Louisville or VT CONVINCINGLY, I would be inclined to think that maybe their best, A+ game could be enough to get it done. Bottom line, they outplayed Louisville for 30 minutes, not the whole game, and were flat against VT. Georgia's athletes are of AT LEAST the quality that VT's athletes are, and this time WVU wont be at home. GL to ya, but like I said, I'd be suprised if WVU keeps this within 2 TDs
