i've seen and called foul on many of this unexplained last minute (litterally) unbelievable reactions by lesser teams.... this last season it has become the mark of the trade in NFL... you just need to take a look at the lines when they come out and just previous to the game to take advantage in some cases, not all ... if anti-logic plays are what to play or fade , half the time may bust your chops:shrug: ... if it's about who's fadin today's game, great handicappers go nutz tryin to guess it or just do what they are best at, play ML or buy points or tease to their satisfaction and reduce their margin considerably, and finally this season (said by Vegas people) has been the most profitable for them...period.

Ric Flair kicks off the open to Thursday's NFL game between the Titans and Colts at LP Field in Nashville in front of over 70,000 fans!

I take it all back. With The Nature Boy invoved I gotta believe it's all on the up and up and Vegas is just lucky. Woooo!

On the course!
I just have to ask: Is the "fix" really going to come down to the last play of the game?

You guys are dilusional.

It really looks nice, and makes your stories shine, so good for you, I guess.

Been wagering for almost 20+ years and from what I've seen in those years......ALL SPORTS ARE FIXED IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER! PERIOD!! With the MILLIONS of dollars wagered on sporting events there is NO WAY somebody or something doesn't have some sort of control over them. No way!!

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/12/06/tim-donaghy-60-minutes-vi_n_382083.html

Just watch the 60 minutes show with Tim Donaghy and that will prove everything that sports are fixed and can be fixed at anytime. That was the most upfront interview about sports and gambling I have ever seen. Donaghy just got caught with his hand in the cookie jar and made some bad decisions. You can't tell me that referees, umpires, etc. don't make calls to sway games on purpose in today's games. They do!

We all have a 50/50 chance at winning a sports wager.......it just depends if you're on the right side of the fix. Remember..it's for entertainment purposes only.

In regards to this Colts/Titans FIX....I didn't have any wagers on this game, but knew the spread and did happen to catch the end. Like one poster stated earlier....80%+ were on Indy -3 in this game. That's the reason Titans drove down and scored a meaningless TD on the very last play. Even the announcers were thinking they'd go for a FG, but nahhhhhhh......4th down....last play....TD!! They lose by 2 and cover the measly 3 point spread. If you don't see something "shady" with that....you're missing something and haven't really figured it out yet. I've been going back and forth on this topic for years, so if anyone wants to discuss it further I'm game. I've see a lot of things and can share a lot of experiences......

Yes it can.......last play of the game makes it even more like it was fixed.

i am a dummy so please explain, Why would the mafia or anyone else for that matter want the games fixed? Number 2 if u really believe that thwey are fixed then dont watch or bet on them simple as that. I had the colts last night really bad beat but it happens. i also have been on the other side when wisky running bac k broke a 52 yd run running thwe clock out about 17 or 18 yrsa ago, spurrier throwing a bomb against kentucky for the cover with maybe 10 seconds left. The real problem last night they didnt care if the titans scored game over. :violin: :violin: :scared

Why would the mafia want the games fixed?? Are you serious with that question??

Let me give you a hint..........$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!!!

Seems like there is a lot of controversy in a lot of made for tv prime time games.I don't know maybe I'm just a sore loser but how many bone job scenarios that happen in this league constantly favor the business side of it. Seems like thats the only way to look at it now ,and for me a guy that's been betting .for over .half my life , I think you'd have to admit it's geting pretty corny!

ref cheating

ref cheating

now we are comparing apples and oranges.Basketball is so much easier to fix 5 players and a couple of refs.remember he did cheat when he was officiating his games, but he also won a ton just knowing how some of the guys officiating. just to many variables fr a footbal game. :toast: :mj07:  :nono:  :142smilie

So, once again........always bet the "business side" of the game, and quit yapping! Sit back on your private island, and laugh your cares away!

Obviously it's not that easy.

Obviously it's not that easy.

It has to be if it's all fixed.

Jack just pointed out that close to 80% are on New England tomorrow -3

The "fixators" should easily see this means Chicago will fight and claw to a cover.

For me personally, If 80% are on New England, I am going to take a long hard look at betting Chicago. Does that mean the fix is in and Chicago will cover? No, but it could. It's not that easy. There's no way to know for sure. I have my reasons for thinking games are fixed, but I don't scream fix after losing a bet, because I can't personally prove it.

Not always.....remember public does win about 50% of the time. Books would just be happy with breaking even. That's why they charge juice for wagering because it all adds up when millions of bets are placed. TB Bucs were almost 80% consensus vs Panthers a few weeks ago and they got the $$$$$. Some will win....some will lose. If us bettors took 70%+ plays all the time we will lose....but the books win. That's why you gotta pick your spots. That Colts/Titans ending though was just what they wanted.....kept everyone on their toes till the final seconds. It's entertainment baby!!!!

Totally disagree......it's all good though. That's why this topic has many opinions. You have yours and I have mine. Bottom line is that we're here to try and make $$ off these games.
