My question is with 10 secs left, DETROIT HAD TO FOUL. LA had no timeouts. Had to do it right there.

Pistons are not intimidated by Lakers at all, they will be fine, but you had your series bet looking mighty pretty with 40 seconds left.

prob is

prob is

honestly

now deet needs to win 5 games to 2

I know that sounds like sour grapes etc, but they handed game to LA

give kobe credit for his 4/28 treys, why RIP didnt hack him with 5/6 secs left I dont know--or send another defender at him and leave shaq alone then hack him... well we can rehash it to death but its sports, luck and chance

I was screaming, begging, pleading for a foul. It was almost too painful. I knew the shot was going in when he let it go.

I do not know who is going to win, right now I do not give a chit, what I care is this series looks like a beautiful series of championship, a real one, not real mismatches, at least in the first 2 games!, what PJ did that surprise me is He decide to play young players in very very tough moments, I can understand why LW is in the game if the game is tough but he put in the game Cook too, that was weird, maybe he is thinking in some options or the future!!

lets see, I am all over the lakers in the first one in Detroit, and bash me, I do not give a fvck, I am not saying Det is done, just they are going to lose the first in Detroit!!!

glta!!

he put in cook because slava got yanked 30 secs after coming into the game for not coming to the ball on a pass.....then cook gets doubled and a jump ball is forced and then he gets yanked.....he was out of options with shaq in foul trouble and malone looking 69 years old.

btw-how bad to payton and malone look?

they look TERRIBLE to me.

KM and GP looks like crap, very very old and with a lot of problems to move, they have no tempo to this kind of games, but GP is the worst, KM can blame his knee and he plays slow, not bad, Payton is just looking very weak mentally and physicly!

i need to correct myself

i need to correct myself

Rasheed didnt foul Shaq it was ben wallace, I couldnt tell first time on TV, but I taped game and re-watched the painful closing minutes--as a coach it's a habit, hehe--and Shaq pushed Ben out of play on rebound then Ben, thru effort, prob tinged with frustration from push, bumped shaq and rest is history

lil play by play update retraction and my apologies to Rasheed

hang in there
gregg

ps always amazes me the lil things that make big things happen, least that was Wooden's tenet that I preach to my players

Detroit is toast if the Laker role starters (Payton and George) wake up and Fisher looks to have a big series after making 2 key wide open treys in 2h. Lakers still have not clicked yet as a team but this win could get things going. I agree with Pt1gard that a loss like this lingers.

Side note, I think Malone has sprained his MCL in his knee. Not sure how serious that is but I think there is chance he may not play. If he does play, def. will be limited. That hurts big time.

Lakers win tonight with zero production from Payton and Slava. ALso Lakers got zero production from Payton, Fisher, George, and Slava in the first half. These are players Lakers count on to produce. Lakers will not beat Detroit in this series if these players do not start producing.

I Have gut feeling Lakers put things together as a "team" for the first time the rest of series. If Payton wakes up, then I think it is over for Detroit. Payton has been absolutely WORTHLESS thus far. I don't know why Lakers don't start Fisher.

Will Billups continue his great play? Remember he is a VERY streaky player and I hve seen him struggle at home many games in these playoffs. If Billups struggles (which is likely since he is very streaky), then I think Detroit has no little chance. Lakers will be bringing the DEFENSE rest of the series. Phil Jackson also said Lakers are still getting used to playing the Pistons. Maybe Lakers have adjusted to them after Kobe made that shot. Look how pathetic Pistons played in OT and dominant Lakers were. Not a great sign for Detroit.

There are plenty of bad signs for LA as well. Like the fact that they were outplayed for the majority of this series so far. Making excuses for them doesn't help you and your bets any. Time to start trying to be a bit more objective, which is not possible when every other line is an explanation for why this team simply isnt very good.

How am I making up excuses? Everything I said happened.

Pistons should have blown out the Lakers in both games the way the Lakers are getting little help from key role players. Amazes me.

Pistons did not play their best game either. Lakers did not play horribly tonight. Time to get the picture that Payton/Malone/Fisher are in for a rough ride in this series. This isnt Darick Martin, Fred Hoiberg, and co.

I guess your not watching the game. In just the 1st quarter, Payton missed wide open trey, George missed 4 wide open shots. All this in 1q. In addition, Payton, Slava, George, and Fisher all key role players for Lakers (2 starters) all had zero production in the 1st half. What is going to happen if these guys start hitting OPEN SHOTS???? It is not like they are missing fade aways or treys with a guy in their face. That is my point. If Pistons cannot blow out Lakers with these guys not producing, what is going to happen when they start? If they don't start producing, then the games prob. will continue to be close.

Good news for Laker fans is Fisher made his last 2 wide open treys. Looks like he rebounded after his 1-9 peformance in game 1.

Yes, those guys are good. Count on them to win it for you. Of course, you completely ignore that Luke Walton played the game of his life, better than ANY OF THOSE OTHER LISTED PLAYERS could ever play. So he made up for them and then some.

You are right though, this Laker team is awesome. This series is over. Kobe is a great guy, all the girls and kids in the stands wearing those number 8 jerseys are really sharp knives too. Southern California - you just gotta laugh at it.

I think even though this is a very tuff loss............the Pistons have to be happy to be in this position..........they got their split and could have won both games from a team that was suppose to manhandle them..........now they are back at home where they have been very tough all season against a Laker team that has not been very good away from the forum all year.........in the playoffs they had a very lucky win in ot against the rockets, a miraculious shot by Fisher to beat the Spurs and a win against the Twolves in a game that the Twolves were very flat for coming off a short days rest between the Sacto series.

The Lakers have been margional at best on the road during the season and on the road............one thing is for sure............The palace will be rocking on Thursday night:)

one more thing

one more thing

a 2 cents deal ...

I will be very curious to see how Larry bounces his team back from this--this is what seperates the greats in coaching, and he is a great one ... if deet wins game 3 I gotta think they win one more at least at home--ok its all hypothetical hehe

least we got action!

It will be tough to get 2 out of 3 at home no doubt. In some ways, I actually think it may be harder for the Pistons to play at home. More pressure will be on them, that's for sure. Also, I have noticed over the years that teams that like to grind can sometimes get carried away with the home crowd behind them and play at their opponents pace. It's really hard to tell what will happen at this point, but one thing is for sure, everyone who said the Lakers would walk all over the Pistons had their head up their ass.
