I dont want to intrude but the pistons have the upper hand here. they dominated both games pretty much

How did the Pistons dominate game 2???? Laker role players (excluding Walton and Rush) were horrible in the 1st half in game 2. George missed 4 wide open shots and Payton missed at least 1 open shot in 1q. Yet Lakers were up by 8pts at half. Is that dominantion from Pistons? Lakers were also up by 12pts at one point in the 3rd quarter. Lakers were also up by 4-6pts late in 4th when Ref called a bogus charging fould on Shaq to give him #5. That is when pistons made their run.

No, i am sorry, Pistons did NOT dominate Lakers at all in the game 2. :nono:

Plus, Pistons scored 17+ pts from free throws in the 2h. Is that domination or the refs helping out?

As for game 1, Pistons beat a team who only had 2 players show up (LITERALLY). And Pistons were down by 2pts in 1st half of that game and were about 8pts better in the 2h. Not that dominate if you ask me. Pistons are just fortunate that role players for Lakers are not hitting "open" shots. Key word open shots. Not "great" defense Pistons are playing when a player shoots open shots. I know that is the strategy but that is not dominance.

Scott you sound like a delusional California sports fan. The Lakers are the better team but it is pretty obvious the Pistons have controlled the tempo and pace of the first two games and have dominated 6.5 of the 8 quarters in the series (all of game 1, the first quarter of game 2, the last half of the 3rdQ, and the 4th quarter of game 2) You can say all you want about LA missing open shots but the Pistons have missed their share too.

What is really boils down to is this,
The media has played a big role in convincing the public that the Lakers are a great team because they have 4 hall of famers. Quite frankly, they are an above average team that sometimes looks like a mismatched jigsaw puzzle of talent. Payton is washed up, Malone has been mediocre, and the Lakers bench is terrible. The Lakers have the 2 best players on the floor. The Pistons hold the advantage basically everywhere else.

For whatever reason people just can't bring themselves to admit that the Pistons are not out classed by the Lakers and that the Lakers being 7 to 1 favorites to win the series was downright stupid regardless of the final outcome.

Sincerely, I have been all the last two days reading and reading, and hearing and hearing, and the consensus in all that virtual and physical places is almost all the people is all over the Pistons!!! I am a little bit overwelmed but at the same time I am happy, I know that almost always the regular joe just give free money to vegas, but I was remembering the superbowl with the people on Carolina (myself too), and Vegas crushed because of that, but in a regular basis I can say today Lakers are playing the Dog role and the no favorite role in my opinion, and I am always try to be with Vegas, not with the people, I just will go to wait till almost the tip off to see if the regular laker fan joe shows up !! if not I am going to play lakers for the 3rd game. Good luck to all! :D

After figuring out all of the possible scenarios.........I am just going to wait it out until after tonights game...........if I have to hedge down the road I will hedge at the higher prices if the Lakers win the next couple of games..............So Lets go Pistons..........AS BEN WALLACE SAYS............ONLY 3 MORE WINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ironically

ironically

certain people whine about Lakers missing open shots... I have never seen an NBA team miss more layins and chippies than Deet--could be up 18 near halftime (and Bens missed them all series)

it's 60-44

it's 60-44

and its far from over, Im no kid ... but honestly, being an old timer who reveres Defense, I get goosebumps watching Detroit break their ass on nearly every possession ... they are in Lakers minds big time this game ...

Clair Bee is weeping somewhere :)

Going into 4th, Lakers down by 12.

Lakers are holding Pistons to a lower FG %. Pistons are up by 12 and they have a +10 pt advantage from free throw line.

Pistons shot 21 free throws. Lakers shot 5.

22 fouls on Lakers
9 fouls on Pistons

What goosebumps are you getting?

Tell ya what, ticali...Since you're clearly not watching this game, and only watching the stats....grab your closest dictionary and look up, "younger", more "athletic", more "committed", and you'll get an idea of why the foul count is 'lop-sided'. ;)

really believe the lakers are the under dogs here as well. the pistons are deeper and they are healthy. the lakers are hurt. the pistons are holding kobe down and living with shaq getting his. i regret i did not go w/instinct and bet det for the series. it is a long way from over but lakers look poor.

I agree Pistons have more talent and are more athletic. Every team Lakers play is.

Tonight Pistons are playing great defense but officials are getting way to involved. Pistons getting away with too much and not calling it both ways. BIG DIFFERENCE

The 1st half officiating was absurd.

the lakers are not only fouling more

the lakers are not only fouling more

but there have been at least 5 more HUGE fouls not called on LA b/c they are so feeble in their efforts the refs are laffing ;)

seriously, the reffing had absolutely nothing to do with this ...Larry brown is master of overplay Defense and getting his players fired up--Davey from the Navy pleaded with him not to swear and use GD term so much

Lakers are at best even money in this series now

loving it :)

MAV, what ru going to do ... maybe hedge 1/2 of it, but U got a real shot to collect it all

gregg

ps one man's opinion, but MJ never quit and postured when things didint go his way like #8 did tonight in FH, least I never saw it .. body language betrayed his immaturity and hurt his team's psyche--but thats only a coach's concept ;)

ti' it may be shaded to det, but the lakers look bad. they look old, slow and unorganized. the pistons are well coached and they are playing very well. they are a deeper team. injuries are hurting the lakers as well. when kobe comes to memphis next year the lakers will be finished for a couple of years. the lakers are still shaq/kobe with the role players. i like k. malone, but he is old. g.payton is older as well and does not fit. he should be backing up fisher. jmo

I agree with everything you said ELVIS. Buss has been getting away with just having Shaq/Kobe and nobody else. Lakers should have only won 1 championship with Shaq/Kobe. Too difficult to win with just 2 players.

You think Kobe goes to Memphis? If he does, I will be laying money on Memphis to win title. BUt I am hoping he comes to my Clippers.

before the Finals started

before the Finals started

all the talk was about a Lakers sweep.
How contraire.
If it wasn't for a couple of miracles in game 2 Pistons just may have broke out a broom of their own!! ;)

Blowout = Goosebumps :moon:

Not a Pistons Fan. Just hate the Lakers but definitely NOT much as the Raiders. :nono:

ticali?

ticali?

What goosebumps are you getting?

missed that one, my man

i guess you dont respect effort; and like to blame game on FTs--which were all fouls and shoulda had many more ... thats cool, you like dunks and dipsy do better, I love how this series is being played--the big bully getting slapped and a wake up call

your team is in deep trouble but if any team can come back it's the incredible lakers  ... I mean theyve done it many times so dont give up hope or blame officials yet

altho U are as fortunate as salam hayeks panties you're not one game from a sweep ;)
