Lakers were lucky to pull game 2 out of their a$$es, because they would've been looking at a probable sweep.

My biggest surprise so far has been the play of my mna 'Sheed. The guy hasn't had the impact I expected. Oh well, I love seeing the Lake Show going down in flames.

I think the series gets decided on Sunday. Huge game.

Billups easily is the MVP for Pistons. Suprised how well he has played in this series. These same Piston players were missing open shots against Pacers but hitting them in finals. The players have stepped up.

Another poor game by Payton. This guy is killing the Lakers.

Lakers need to throw the ball into Shaq every possession. Why they don't do that I dunno.

Look for Shaq to dominate game 4. Lakes backs against the wall, this is how they supposedly like it.

"BEN WALLACE SAYS ONLY 2 MORE WINS NOW"

MAV, what ru going to do ... maybe hedge 1/2 of it, but U got a real shot to collect it all

Gregg........I am at a loss on this future bet. First I am glad I made it before Detroits game 7 victory against NJ. But to be honest before the finals started my plan was to take my Pistons at 14-1 and hedge it right down the middle with the Western Conference team being around a 4-1 favorite.

I about rolled over when seeing the Lakers at 7-1..........so I decided against hedging before series started and decided to wait until after game 1......to my surprise the Pistons won convincingly then I waited again before Game 2 and now Game 3 is over and I still havent hedged yet.........:)

Now I am thinking about only hedging 1/2 of my original 5 units

I have to be honest...........nothing I have seen so far leads me to believe the Lakers can win this series let alone make it
competitive.............these 16-23 point quarters just are'nt going to get it done this year. They look slow and mentally tired to me.

The smart thing would be to take 1/2 of my units and bank them but the worst that can happen now is a 6 game series......so maybe I will just wait until an elimination game to hedge. If this series goes back to LA I dont think we are going to be seeing those 8 point spreads anymore for the Fakers...........maybe 6 point favs but not 8........unless they win these next 2 games decisively.............

blame everyone but shaq

blame everyone but shaq

even Kobe is .417 in this series

was 41% vs spurs

best break for Lakers is having extra day rest--shaq used to avg 15 boards per nba final, now has total of 15 in last 2 combined ...

wow, anyone recall odds for psitons sweep--werent far from hedging monster return or collecting

these are the ugliest unwatchable games we'll ever see.

This is not championship caliber basketball. The Pistons are an average team that is good at the style of play that the league apparently wants to be played (grabbing, holding, bumping). This isn't basketball, it isn't pretty and it isn't easy to watch.

The Pistons may be better at this non-basketball "basketball" but I have a feeling that there will be a couple of games officiated in a manner that allows talented players to win. It hasn't happened yet, but it will.

GP is consummate loser, always has been, cancer period ...

One time when he was playing for Karl in seattle, one of my players, MVP in state, went to sonic practice and said GP wasnt hurt and sat in stands in sweats and made nasty comments the whole time, punking his mates

great man that GP; Kobe has his demons too ... Shaq was sarcastic in post game sayng he only got 14 shots and "story of my life" no one throws me ball ...

PJ's turn to brew chemical magic

After this season, I now hate Gary Payton as a player. No respect for him at all. He is costing the Lakers a championship with his poor play offensively and defensively. I disagree with you about Kobe.

Watch Kobe and Shaq in game 4 on Sunday. You will see true champions.

Ticali:

One thing I know for sure about this board, is that biased, one sided commentary is never rewarded.

You are completely out to lunch on just about everything you say.

Take the Laker goggles off.

these are the ugliest unwatchable games we'll ever see.

Defense win championships. In any sport you care to mention, DEFENSE wins the big games.

You want 100+ scoring every night with no fouls called?....Go and play NBA Jam 2004 for a few houors instead of sitting whinging about this horribly over-rated Lakers team.

allows talented players to win. It hasn't happened yet, but it will.

I thought Scott from USC was insane, but I think you've just grabbed the mantle.
Yes. Ok. It's time the rest of us finally admitted to the entire west coast of America that indeed, Payton in more talented than Billups. Malone clearly better than Rasheed. Hamilton is merely a hack. Prince? Nowhere near the player Devean George is.....Williamson, Okur and Campbell wouldn't waste their time lacing up Medvedenko's boots.
The one clear edge LA has is Shaq, but even Wallace consistantly out-boards him.
Even Hunter is more than holding his own out there.

So, please....Someone point out to me where this far superior talent is?....Unless you are somehow trapped in 2001 somewhere?

Kobe has still only topped

Kobe has still only topped

50% once in his last 11 games ... tayshaun and Deet's team D is grueling, mind-fvcking ....

I dont wana sound too pompous but at that risk, they play D about how I teach it--relentless and in lanes entire game to take opps will (im not saying Im nba coach so dont anyone get too riled etc ;)) just saying I understand the psychology inside out; no one plays it like them; spurs D is more contain ...

Deet rallies for every looseball and claws the lanes--thats why I love them and find them exciting ... and all the people saying Lakers are missing wide open shots dont understand that your legs get jellified eventually under that brand of pressure ... Deet traps a lot, and picks up fullcourt, they are in your face and long limbed ...

Fish has got to hit some Js, I dont see Rush or even george making it happen ...

my 2 cents

I meant let talent shine on both sides. Refs are not allowing both teams to play basketball. That is what I meant. Putting Detroit on the line so much more than LA in 1h was not entertaining at all.

I am a Clipper fan by the way. Partially a Laker fan.

I appreciate great defense and Pistons played very good defense tonight. I just did not appreciate the officiating.

So what you are asking for is for the officials to not call a fair game.

Because right now, the Pistons are taking the ball to the basket on offense and drawing fouls from the clutch and grab club while the Lakers hoist fade away jumpers and throw the ball out of bounds. There is no other way to call these games.

I guess after watching the 2002 Western Conference Finals as a Laker fan, "fair" probably has a different meaning to you.

do yu not read what people say?

a # of people have stated, and correctly, why there has been a one sided foul discrepency ... even PJ admitted they are not proactive in series in his press conference and hence fouling, arriving late etc .. watch the espn basketball anallysts, most of them are pretty good ... learn the game before you come on here and make statements that brand you myopic ... Im not down on you, just trying to help you understand why you're getting some guff
