Vinnie gave me this idea in bubba1s thread with his funny post about hunting.
Its been awhile since I posted a picture thread, and I am bored waiting for my nfl winning plays this weekend.
Alot of this thread will have to do with fictional characters I will call SixFive and bubba1
The names have been changed to protect the innocent.
If you are a avid hunter feel free to come in and state your case.
To start out with I must say that in my early years through about 25 yrs of age I was a avid hunter.
I was taken hunting by both of my grandfathers who lived in the woods during deer season. Also hunted may squirrels, rabbits, pheasants, and doves. We cleaned and ate what we shot.
When I was 9 years old I remember one time I was in the woods with my bb gun. I was hunting chipmunks and there were alot of them around.
So this one goes down in his hole. I figured if he didn't have another exit he would come back out.
I waited there a hour with my bb gun pointed at the hole. Waiting , waiting for the kill. I loved killing stuff. Anything that moved really.
So just then I sensed a movement and the chipmunk stuck his head out of the hole. I pulled the trigger on my bb gun and shot him in the eye killing him instantly. It didnt bother me one bit and I moved on looking for maybe a sparrow that was flying around.
Another time I seen a robin in a tree, minding its own business. I didnt have my bb gun so I picked up a large rock, snuck up close, and knocked it out of the tree. It didnt kill it and it was flapping around. I picked up a very large rock and slammed it down on the flapping bird, killing it.
Another time I was in the woods hunting squirrels with a 12 gauge. I happened upon a large porcupine about 15 ft up in a tree. I shot him off the branch and it took about 10 shots to kill him.
Porcupines are tough animals.
I really have no problem with deer hunting if the family takes the deer and uses the meat to feed themselves. It is culling of a herd that is necessary to keep it healthy.
I am not sure where the change came into me about hunting and the killing of wild animals. I do think that I had a epiphany but I cannot place when it happened. Maybe I will remember sometime in this thread.
