I think I just killed my friends truck

Had his truck for 2 days now doing some work. Well it started and shut right off a few times then started and bucked then started and ran.
Well this time it tried to start and then a click or snap sound now nothing :scared what the fauck happened ? :s1:

Did it go klunkity klunkity before it clicked ?

Was there any smoke.?

Did it go wack wak kawak ?

I think its the starter. Thats for starters.

I would be concerned also about the alternator.

Can you play the radio at all ?

One time a truck of mine was making loud noises and I turned up the radio so I coudnt hear it anymore.

It'll run with a blown head gasket and the don't go click when they go. If there's steam coming out of the exhaust pipe that would indicate a blown head gasket.

Park it in his drive way after he goes to bed and say there was nothing wrong when you brought it back. :scared

Ok first go out and see if the altenator will turn by hand it will be tough but try that first. If it is seized up there is enough tension there to keep the engine from turning over.

The radio and lights will still work because they're running off the battery.

Just to double check. There may be too much tension on the belt for you to turn it. There is an idler pulley along with your other pulley that drive the alt etc. It is spring loaded just put a wrench on it and turn counter clockwise and it will loosen the belt. It is spring loaded and there is alot of tension. With the other hand see if you can turn the altenator.
