Morris the truck ran great once i got it started no problems back & forth to home depot.

When i went to move it out back it just tried to start then sputtered & clicked and shut down now nothing.

no does nothing

oil is fine 1st thing I checked

could it just be the solenoid

Could be the solenoid. They aren't external anymore, built into the starter but that's no problem.

Turn the head lights and see if they are full power. While they're on turn the key and see if they draw down.

Vinnie

its the fawking battery

Check the ground and positive on the battery and make sure they are tight.

Then jump start that bitch and go get another battery at Jiffy Lube.

BINGO !@:0corn

PS - I knew that click sounded familiar.

I was having alternator problems too... If you have access to a battery charger or voltage meter... check it out.

Put a charge on the battery and see if the truck will turn on... also.. get a screwdriver or something and tap the starter.... if it cranks up no problem then its the starter

Vinnie, try jumping it. If it starts that elimanates the starter as the problem. Now you're down to battery and altenator as far as the electrical system is concerned. Could be the alt is not charging the battery or the battery won't take a charge. Even a new battery may not solve the problem. A car will run for a long time on just the charge in the battery. Can you get to a parts store that will test the battery and alt? Trying to help but with out seeing it is tough.

Ok first go out and see if the altenator will turn by hand it will be tough but try that first. If it is seized up there is enough tension there to keep the engine from turning over.

The radio and lights will still work because they're running off the battery.

lol,Morris he thought the head gasket may have made a cracking or snapping noise, I'm not sure he is going to find the alternator. Lol, vinnie, that was to funny.

Maybe we should team up. Would be a very profitable online auto solution forum. There now we even have a name. "Auto Solutions"

Its a great idea.

We could be available 24/7 on our Blackberrys.

Cater to woman. Just ask them what noises the thing is making and troubleshoot it from there.

We could make a killing.

I think I fixed KellyinDallas car one time on here, but not sure. She may not be coming back. I think us men offended her or something.

Not many woman can stand up to a full frontal attack by the hostiles at Madjacks.
