on a positive note.....

i thought it would be .05 already.

.10 anyway.

so it held up pretty good.

why did they LIE and say "no reverse split"?

why did they LIE and say the "10K would be on time?"

i've been on a reverse split before and lost 100K because I BELIEVED.

I agree. I think it still being at 0.14 is a decent sign. but there is certainly uncertain times in the future when it is a $12-20 stock.

I was in on a reverse split as well, Electrosource....yeah you've never heard of 'em for a reason. :)

The reverse stock split, which is expected to take effect on September 22, 2009, subject to receipt of necessary regulatory approvals, has also been approved by the holders of more than a majority of SpongeTech's voting capital stock.

Hmmmm... I could be grasping at straws here... but thoughts I have; (I will not be able to respond until late tomorrow afternoon, so it will be interesting)

Is it possible this doesn't go through? Possible designed to get shorts out, period? (If not why PR it 2 weeks out? That definitely affects PPS, while researching these things typically happen same day or so!??? this wait time makes it a more positive in my mind!)

Deloitte and Touche: Could they be behind this to get them moved up to NASDAQ? Still could hurt longer term for me IMO. I felt more value going into the $1-10 than $20-60+. We aren't APPL for goodness sakes.

IF shorts are trying to cover, as the CUSIP changes on the RS... are we in for one heck of a ride up prior to the 9-22?

So many questions I don't have answers to, and my crystal ball ain't working.

I have decided to be RISKY, VERY RISKY and at this time will be riding this out! kurby kurby

In the end whether this stock is priced at 0.20 with 100 shares outstanding or $20 with 1 share outstanding doesn't matter.

If you really thought it could get to $2 with that many outstanding shares, then you should also believe that it can get to $200 with 1/100 of the shares left.

Of course. I sold my SRZ to buy SPNG last week!!!

I do not like the 100 to 1 split. I understand the concept of the value but still companies do a forward split of their shares to bring the PPS down to a level where people buy shares. Until the 10 K comes out we won't know anything.

My 2 cents

My 2 cents

1.CDE calls have been kicking ass!!! Stock as well
have not posted here but I like HL as well. Silver is strong
2. Yield play..... VGR 10% yield (generic cigarettes)
+5% stock div. The play?? run it till next week then sell day before X date 16th??....PPS will drop fast after that IMO.....or hold a nice yield stock but if you want to get the stock to hold WAIT and buy much lower
Penny stock: NSMG only pure penny hurricane play left. No Hurricanes ...........low price .0087
could fly with expected Q2 PR this week or a storm before season ends

This was going to be my point about SPNG, Dawg, thanks for bringing it up.
NO WAY this stock was going to hit even 50 cents with a BILLION or more potential shares out there--current outstanding shares are 772 Million--that would mean a market cap of 500 million for a company with 10 million dollars a month in sales? Not happening.
As jack said, if you were buying this thing hoping to hit it big, it would have had to be on a very short term basis--I have 10K shares at .0997--had it ever hit 30 cents, I'd have at least sold a 1/3 of my position and let the rest ride to wherever it would have gone.
Since I'm only into it for a dime, I'm not too worried about what this thing does. I have a few other speculative stocks totalling about 5k, which is approx 2.5% of my total portfolio. That is more than enough of risky investments for me--and when combined with my sports gambling--plenty of thrills and spills to go around, too.

But I see this move as actually quite positive news for SPNG. Reverse splits are usually bad due to the company trying to stay afloat; everything points to this company having solid growth and earnings for the near future--and lets remember--funds usually can't own a stock that sells for less than 5 dollars or is traded on the pink sheets or the OTBB like SPNG is right now.
I think they had no choice in going for a 1-for-100 split--but as everyone points out--is this a 15 dollar stock? I guess we will find out in the next few weeks.
