Had blinking airbag signal on dash this morning.

Called Nissan dealer to see what they thought--said probably a failty sensor or could be faulty airbag--their bottom line--minmum $383 to do diagnoistic and replace sensor but could be as high as $1,500 if airbag--then asked when I could bring it in. I told blinking light was not that annoying.

Ran search on internet and found it was common fault on Infinite and most of the time could be fixed by resetting. To reset you turn ignition switch to on for 5 seconds than off --3 times in succession.
--which I did -and problem solved.
Wonder what all the Nissan dealer would have found.

Dealer would have found at least $383 bucks.
7 out of 10 would have took their car in.

Common problem but nobody said what the actual problem really was. The light flashes for a reason. I would have a least had the system scanned to see what particular code set it off. This doesn't have to be done at the dealer. A good independent shop would have been able to scan it and given you a better clue with what freaked out the system.

Valid point. AutoZone does free system scans in my area. You might want to get the error code and look it up online.

I've saved a ton of money in 09' buying the Infiniti QX4 maitenance guide and fixing things myself. Blinkers and headlight replacement alone I've saved a grand.

Awesome that you saved some $$$ but you may still wish to have a system's check seeing as it involves a safety feature.

Brought in my car, needed brakes. They said they couldn't fix them. They made my horn louder, good to go.
