All you morons who think owing a gun makes you a tough guy have failed to explain to me why it works in every other country, but won't work here. The reason you haven't is because there is no reason and you just fight to hang on to an outdated premise that isn't relevant today because it makes you feel tough.

It?s a psychotropic drug issue not a gun problem.

Per usual, you are wrong AND didn't answer the question you quoted.

I'll ask again and maybe someone can read it to you, why does gun control work in other countries and it won't work here, tough guy.

Other countries don?t prescribe so much medicine for depression, it?s the LIBERAL PSYCHIATRISTS THAT HAVE CAUSED Mass shooters not guns, it?s mental illness

Name one mass shooter that wasn?t on meds for depression?

Where you at Hedgie? I asked you a question and you seem to only be able to respond with a meme of another politician (at the end of the day Washington was really just another politician). A politician who lived in another time who's thoughts aren't relevant today.

You see Washington suggested the people own guns to protect themselves should the government go sideways. In that time it could happen because the government was just a handful of people and if they decided to pursue their own interests above that of the people the people could rise up against them and take matters into their own hands.

It was our very first form of checks and balances.

Today, not so much. The government does what it wants, when it wants and how it wants regardless of the guns you own because the government is served and protected by a well paid militia-type law enforcement agency which, for the most part, governs their own. There would have to be a conspicuous, indisputable violation before any law enforcement person receives some type of judicial consequence which, in most cases, is minimal. There is a glaring double standard in our society which most seem to ignore ("You scratch our back, we'll scratch yours."). These "law enforcement" agencies, i.e, police, local magistrates, higher courts at every level, national guard, reserve units and the military itself, keep politicians well-insulated from any civil unrest or any other activity which would threaten or undermine their way of life which, I assure you, is far different than yours.
Has your little pop gun stopped one tax from being raised? Did your guns stop Obamacare from becoming legal? Stop one law from being changed? What are your guns protecting from as far as our own government goes?

"Well, when they come for me I'll be ready!" Ready for what? Have you seen our military? What good are your little pop guns gonna do when they "come for you"?

I'm sure you are one of those "they can take my guns when they pry them from my cold dead hands" people. I hope when they "come for you" they find your offer acceptable, otherwise I imagine you give up your guns when told, should that day come.

The only purpose your guns serve today is to allow access to idiots who shoot up schools or churches or some other public place, that's it.

So I'd still like an answer as to why gun control works in other countries and it wouldn't work in ours and I'd like to know exactly what part of the government you think you are protecting yourself from as George Washington suggested?

I honestly expect zero answers from you.

I'll bet many shooters aren't on meds. BUT, 100% of them had guns!

I'll admit, I do not know the medical history of every mass murderer in the US nor do I know if/how they were treated.

It does seem what you are saying is other countries don't have mental illness? Or, are you saying it's treated differently in other countries and a side effect of the medication used here in the US is mass murder?

Whichever your stance, it's incorrect. Mental illness exists in other countries, those affected don't have access to guns to carry out said mass killings. Do the mental ill in other countries sit around wishing they could get their hands on a semi automatic weapon to kill a bunch of kids in a school? I honestly don't know the answer to that, what I do know is they don't have access to those weapons and as such have not slaughtered innocent kids.

If you feel it's a side effect of the medication you are an idiot, but in either case if you limit the access to those weapons you solve the problem. I'm shocked that someone, even like you, doesn't want to solve the problem because it makes you feel like too much of a man to tote around a gun. Think about that.

You simply don't care innocent people are getting gunned down so you can feel like more of a man. In what reality does that make sense.

Comedian John Caparulo had a great thought about people who get bit by sharks. While his friends who all like the ocean gave him shit about .0000001% of people going in the ocean getting bit by sharks he replied that that .0000001% of people all had one thing in common, they were in the ocean. If I stay out of the ocean I remove all chance of getting bit by a shark.

In other words, whatever you (wrongly) think the cause of the shootings is, if you remove the guns we have no more shootings. It's amazingly simple, yet people like you live to make it so difficult, for the rest of us.

One of the people killed at the Tree of Life I knew indirectly, a friend of a friend, so to speak. If you think your right to own a gun is more important the her right to live then we really do have nothing further to discuss and you can go on hiding behind your silence.

I don't carry a bible, but I'll steal a line from it in this case, my hope is you reap what you sow.

Inescapable logic. However:

There are none so blind as those who will not see.

Or if you prefer the Biblical version -

Jer. 5:21 (King James version): "Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not."

And for those who bellow Second Amendment!!

There's this: A well regulated Militia. They always skip this part. :0008
