Stats for 54 holes are easily skewered by whether 1 or 2 shots a day are lying 3 inches on the green or 3 inches on the fringe (among other reasons) . . . I have never seen Tiger lose a major when he has putted this well (beautiful pace, confident reads and holing his full quota) AND played this well (in relation to what the other contenders are showing) . . . Maybe The Terminator bleeds for once.
Ashes for supper was common fare last night . . . I do not see Easter Sunday on a par with yesterday's brutality for the dreams of those with experience and class.
Sunday:
Charles will be sharp, Scott not so focused. Otherwise, my capping is drawn to perceived opportunities on the business end of the championship. Easily the best 54 holes of Zach's career and I see him chomping at the bit - in a good way - for 18 more. Appleby, of course, has the tough pairing, and Mickelson's is less than ideal, but otherwise the pairings look decent early and late and might contribute to the proceedings.
Howell(+110) over Scott
Mickelson(+110) Un73'
Harrington(+120) Un74'
Johnson(-105) Un75'
Donald(+115) Un74'
Woods(+120) Un71'
