Gonna get in the mix a little:
$10 To Win:
Paddy $300 - All three of my guys are 5 shots back, but are very capable of going low here. Paddy is starting to get his groove back, and the patrons love him. If he can get something going early, he has nailed the back nine this week. (+1 front, -5 back). He did eagle #2 Thursday, so hopefully he will get some confidence early. Paddy is -8 on the par 5's so he is taking care of business there. He will be playing with his Ryder Cup teammate Henrik Stenson, so he should be comfortable.
Mahan $200 - I took him at 50/1 before the tourney, but didn't post, so will not count that. Of all the players I watched on Wednesday, Mahan was the most focused. I think this is a different player than we have seen in the past. Not only does he have two wins this year, but I think he is truly ready to make a big move and win a major. I think he pressed too much the first two days, and just let it go yesterday and play. I think he will do that again today and we will see if that is enough. Like Paddy, Mahan will be playing with his good buddy Kuchar, so both should be comfortable and in good form. He has also gone -1 on the par 3's this week.
Westwood $200 - Glutton for punishment I guess? I never felt sorry for Monty, but Westwood seems to be a damn good guy. It is getting harder and harder to not pull for the guy. Two reasons I like this pick:
1 - Like the previous two, playing with Ryder Cup teammate Paul Lawrie.
2 - Of all the guys that are 5 shots back or better, he is the only one that did not shoot under par yesterday. In fact, all shot -2 or better. To do that back to back days is tough. We know he can go low here, and he has had two average rounds after an opening 67 on Thursday.
$50 match-ups
Stallings +135 over Ogilvy - just a homer pick. He grew up 10 minutes from here and I think his game sets up well for Augusta. He had an awful day on Friday and started yesterday with a bogey on one. Then he settled in and shot -3 the rest of the way.
CIII +120 over Rose - Finished yesterday horribly, but me thinks the hometown kid will want to have a good final round. I put Rose in the same package with Casey and Donald, which is not a compliment. Not like C3 has done much better, but he is at home and Rose will be thinking about the long flight back across the pond.
