Money order was returned, for whatever reason, to 5Dimes. I do not use a PO box, and my address has been unchanged for years. Funds deposited to my account. Ergo, Fed Ex is the answer.

Hmm, still wonder if it was the PO who messed it up. If not, then it's something with the intermediary 5d uses. At least it's resolved. I find it's harder to make solid bets with this kind of frictional crap unresolved.

Perhaps the new administration will allow books to proceed unmolested, and let Pinnacle and Neteller back into the game.

Am I the only one who finds the type of detailed information in this thread to be inappropriate?

Seriously fellas, I fully understand the frustration that most US bettors are dealing with regarding the limited options available for getting paid with your own money, but some things are better left unsaid on a public forum.

Just my two cents and no disrespect intended.

Be advised, some years back the FBI implemented the Carnivore program. Basically intercepts ALL internet traffic. Now the programs are more sophisticated. We can bet off-shore because they LET US. All is known, believe it. If this was a threat to national security guys in black suits would be dropping from helicoptors in our back yards.

Understood. Way I see it: We all put money in and take money out, right? Betting's not illegal. Maybe betting with local bookies or making book is, but offshores and Vegas action aren't.

The PO and book policies we're discussing are all more or less public knowledge or at least publicly available information. It's valuable to me if I can come here and get some confirmation or informed disagreement on something I've observed. Saves time, gives a new perspective. Apart from the picks, I come to madjacks for a view on where the industry is headed. The books' payout policies play into that. I wish we had more discussion in this subforum than what we do have. Because Frank S. posted, I have new questions about my own experience. That's valuable to me. Discussing truly private things, I agree, not a good idea.

I agree w/nelson this is useful for everybody.. We need to know which books will pay in a week and which books take 60 days, so we stay awa from them. We all know we can get the money there in 2 sec, but we need to know how quick to get it back.

Nothing personal Judge, I was thinking about ur book but til I see a thread from some of old posters here about getting paid, I won't open a account there.

And I try to use as many as 6 to 8 books to get the best lines, so the info is always pertinent to me, looking for more outs.

update to mailed check situation

update to mailed check situation

I discovered the first check I requested was just not sent, period, hence the non-receipt and LONG delay. I asked for a second check by mail and did receive it in about 7 days, not bad really. So it seems the first request was just an unfortunate mistake. It happens. Therefore, I would request a check by mail in the future. I just posted this in all fairness to 5Dimes.

FYI....I use "sportsbook" and requested $2100 by mail on 11-9-08....got the check on 12-14-08. I've since started using QuickTender for account transactions at "sportsbook". I'm able to transfer from QuickTender to "sportsbook" and back and from QuickTender to my checking account here in my home state.
