Twas the night before football, and all through the house, boilermaker said:Toy, hope you and the Wolfpack have great seasons. How about NC State and Purdue for the National Championship? WOW that would be great.
Forgot to add ,I'm going to kick your :moon: in golf this week. Have a good weekend.
Not a creature could sleep, not even my spouse.
The tailgate was packed in the car with great care,
Just a few hours to kickoff; we soon would be there.
The Wolfpack was confident, snuggled tight in their dorms,
Big wins and big games had become the norm.
My wife wore her jersey and I wore my cap,
We both donned our red, too excited to nap.
Out by the Carter there stood Chuck the Chest,
He'd have the Pack ready, and playing their best.
The receivers were quick, their speed it was pure.
With Rivers to throw it, the touchdowns were sure.
The moon on the breast of the new painted field,
Gave the glow of a champion the Pack would not yield.
Then what to my wondering eyes should appear,
the big football players, in all of their gear.
An O-line, a D-line and fast running backs,
I knew in an instant, it must be my Pack.
More rapid than Tarholes, the Wolfpack they came.
Chuck whistled and shouted and called out each game.
Come Terps, come on Wahoos, bring on Duke and Wake.
Bring Tigers and Buckeyes, you too shall we shake.
To the top of the steps and back down again,
Faster each time or we'll do it times ten.
The Pack they did gather with talent aplenty
Line 'em up boys, we'll start on the twenty.
Down towards the harshmarks and endzones they flew.
TA and Tremain and Cotchery too.
Then in an instant I saw from the guys,
A new attitude that soared to the skies.
I grabbed my cold drink and went to my seats.
(My life time of rights are really too sweet.)
The Red and the White renewed their great quest,
Started with white shoes by Coach Chuck the Chest.
A bundle of plays stacked notebooks 10 high.
We'd drive the D crazy, we'd make them all cry.
Our passes they zipped, our runs they were scary.
These offensive shifts, made fast backs more merry.
As if that's not enough, the defense was stacked.
Speed was the key, it belongs to the Pack.
The scrimmage continued, the machine it ran well.
Come August the 30 we'd unleash our hell.
In the blink of an eye, my vision was done,
Unable to sleep - ready for fun.
Our tailgates will rock - bring beer and fried chicken.
We'll shout out our toast to all who will listen.
The fans were all ready, Go Pack! was the cheer.
Everyone knew, that this was State's year.
LET's GO PACK!!!!
