kc, i don't know what to say. it happens so often that those you try to help turn against you.

your wife is obviously a very caring person who cares about humanity much more than the majority of us, and in the process takes chances that most of us avoid.

i feel this will not deter her, as she seems to be on a mission. i only wish that the situation can be controlled and you guys can enjoy the peace we should all be entitled to.

if your state allows it and you are comfortable with it, get a concealed weapons permit for you and your wife. use the weapon only as a very last resort.

i hope your situation is resolved peaceably and quickly for all involved.

man, kc, just saw this or would have responded earlier. you may want to talk to a lawyer. if this kid did any planning or took any actions in plotting some assault that may be a crime in your state whereby the juvenile authorities should be notified. if you need to ask any questions on the subject get my email address from jack and drop me a note. best to you and your family.

So Cal
Thoughts and prayers to you and yours. Have been through something similar, though not so threatening. As your wife undoubtedly knows, the state (Calif, probably others) goes to tremendous lengths to protect all the so-called "rights" of those in special ed programs. Seldom is the same attention paid to the "rights" of the others. Hang in there - use the other students as valuable resources. They will give you more info than police, etc. This obviously calls for expulsion, though special ed kids are judged on a different level. This kid is obviously crying out for help. I would demand to meet with school officials and teacher's union chiefs to get a clear position from them - and their plans to eliminate your worry.
