Most of these fights can go either way. I expect a couple of upsets.
Irvin is going to get his ass handed to him.

No one is going to confuse Reese Andy with GSP.
After all Reese is not known as the Headhunter now is he.
That belongs to Paul.:mj07:

He did KO Tank the exact amount of time it took Kimbo.

What is your beef with Buentello??
True he finishes fights fast against weak opponents and always losses against top teir guys, but is usually entertaining. Aleksander will beat him sure, but other fights on the card have way more interest to me than that WEAK UFC card.

Fights I expect to be more interesting than any fight on the UFC card:

Rizzo v. Barnett. Rizzo at +300 is insane. I expect him to beat Josh AGAIN. This is a good matchup for THE ROCK.

Whitehead +220 against Babalu is high as well. Whitehead has only lost twice since 2003.Once to Vera in which Whitehead got injured and a decision loss to Jardine. Not to bad.Not a lot of quality wins in that stretch, but Babalu has not impressed of late.

Only interesting fight on UFC Card is Franca/Edgar and that is almost a so what fight.

Im gonna buy the shit out of this card.. for me to get to see Lindland, Babalu, Fedor, Rizzo all in the same night just gives me a minor chubby....... plus, think about all the matchup opportunities Affliction has to work w/... they cant have all their best fighters taking on each other in their first event.. they need to create some sort of foundation first.. otherwise Lindland vs. Babalu would be happening July 19th.

Having Trump jump on board just makes this organization even more legit. Watch out UFC....... if Affliction is able to keep Fedor around people will be watching like a hawk...... after all, FEDOR IS GOD... im interested to see how quickly Fedor disposes of Sylvia b/c we're all familiar w/ Sylvia and seen his performances against a lot of top UFC heavyweights...

My only play:

Rizzo for 1 Gina at +300

:toast:

I have never been a huge Lindland guy because he is somewhat boring, but I respect his ability.
I am still bitter this card is not in Dallas asit was originally announced. I was looking forward to heading up there for it.

Rawli, I agree with you about the matchups that Affliction will be able to put together BUT their big problem will be the same as the other MMA orgs in the US, they don't have the names that draw in big enough ppv buys. Hell yeah I'll buy it, you'll buy it and a lot of other guys on here. As will a good % of mainstream MMA fans but to get the numbers they need for good PPV events they need a name joe public knows. As good as Fedor is and as much of a God he is in MMA, it's not him. I have friends that will watch every UFC with me but they have no clue who Fedor is, they just know his name because I say it so often. I really think the first few fights should have been on HDNet to get it going. Fedor should have fought Silvia on free tv and then that could set up a fight on PPV with Arvloski. I think that would have been a bigger draw than Silvia. Of course, this is all just my opinion and they could draw massive PPV numbers. I know i'll be ordering it.

Yea..... for their first card, though, it is pretty impressive..

I hope it will eventually catch the eye of the more casual fans.

This event could be all it takes to make Fedor a household name in America, then the popularity of Affliction could spread like wildfire.. And they do need to extend their talent-base, but names like Babalu, Lindland, Rizzo/Sylvia/Rothwell/Arlovski/Fedor/Barnett make Affliction a nice startup organization......... it will take time for Affliction to become more talent-rich in the lower weight classes, but chances r Fedor vs. Couture will happen under the Affliction name.. that would be HUGE.

Not saying the card is immaculate, but it sure as hell beats the Spike TV card the same night......... not to mention UFC 86: Borefest.

Ah, how could I have forgotten Couture vs Fedor. That would be the fight they need to sell it. There's a lot of guys out there they can get that are exciting.

They could really bill the Fedor Randy fight as Captain America vs the Russian who doesn't lose and destroys people.

As much as I think he's done, I think Tito vs Babalu on that same card would be big as well. Tito carries a name and more importantly, he's not affraid to get out and sell the fight in the media.

Throw in Arvloski vs Barnett and that could be a BIGGGG card.

Yep. And looking forward to seeing how some of these former UFC guys perform.. I forgot about Belfort and Martin... Martin is always fun to watch even if he is on the receiving end of a vicious KO once in a while. :dizzy:

If Affliction goes over well... we may see them getting into contract wars w/ UFC and other organizations.. If they could pick up a guy like Jake Shields they really can make an impact.... knowing that they have some high ranked guys and so forth and so on.....

Raw...calm down buddy.....:mj07:

This is the first fight card for the organization and they will be losing huge amounts of money on this event. Also, it isn't even sold out yet. And yes they are paying that piece of crap Fedor millions for this (contract rumoured to be 4-6 million for 3 fights) fight. Great for fighters looking for big paydays, but let us just see what happens in a year. To even compare Affliction to UFC is insane. Those two organizations don't even belong in the same breath. For fu**s sake they haven't even fought the first card yet:142smilie

If Affliction keeps paying guys millions and keeps losing money month after month after month then they won't last long. I hope they didn't "shoot their wad" on Fedor. That scumbag is all about money and hasn't fought anyone any good in forever. Why you'd pay a fighter that ducks fighters millions of dollars is downright moronic. And I assure you Affliction will do everything and I mean everything to make sure Fedor wins that match. If you think that Kimbo fight was a joke......just wait until you see what happens if the fight goes to the Judges:scared

Fedor is a disgrace to MMA and anybody who actually wants him to win needs their head examined. And remember out of all the guys that Fedor could fight he is fighting probobly the most hated UFC fighter of all time (ok well Diego Sanchez and Matt Hughes may be ahead of him).

I am all for more MMA fights, the more fights the happier I am. But let's just take an easy on the Affliction/UFC comparisons. That's like comparing the NFL to the WNBA.....I mean come on:scared

Cmon now.. dont take my words too seriously.. it will take Affliction at least a couple years to break even, let alone this one event..........

And I will be cheering my ass of for Fedor... As ive said b4, ILL NEVER CHEER FOR ANYONE THAT HAS EVER TESTED DIRTY FOR STEROIDS (e.g. Tim Sylvia).. having steroid users in the sport is much more hurtful to MMA than guys who "dodge fights"... and to say Fedor has "dodged fights" is completely BS.......... in fact, the reason he didnt sign w/ UFC is b/c Dana White's selfish ass wouldnt let Fedor participate in AMATEUR SAMBO EVENTS.. ya know.. the ONES U DONT GET MONEY TO COMPETE IN..... looking at Fedor's record, it's not in his nature to dodge fights..... after all, who should he be afraid of in the UFC... their champion Noguiera? :mj07: Fedor has dominated him twice already........

Well Raw......I have to disagree with ya....Fedor is a disgrace in my opinion....and if Tim Sylvia fought in Japan he'd never been found to have steroids. You could come into the ring with a needle in your arm and Pride/Dream/Sengjuko/ wouldn't do anything. Does that mean Fedor has done roids, no it doesn't but for fu**s sake that don't even show a friggen weigh in most of the times in Japan. So that arguement is flawed in my opinion. And don't get me wrong, I am not a Tim Sylvia fan, but to me Fedor is a massive joke for what he's done to MMA. "Hi my name is Fedor, I am the best ever yet I fight crappy fighters, pay me millions." :mj07:

Please note.....as pathetic as it sounds I will be cheering for Sylvia more then any other fighter except for GSP. I hate Fedor almost as much as I hate Diego (almost). I so hope that scumbag Fedor loses, will he? Probably not, but I'll be cheering for my boy Timmy :142smilie

(man I can't believe I will actually be cheering for Sylvia...what is the world coming to?)

This fight card is better than any UFC card i ever saw. I hope they succeed but of course to fuk the fans Dana has to pull his shit and have a card of his own. Good business yes. Good for the fans hell no. You guys can be happy all you want that there are two cards on this night but the bottom line in this business is that competition is good fior the fans and that is why we are getting this great card. If ufc squashes this organization imagine the shit cards we will get to see. Hell this next UFC card is embarrassing. I hope they lose there ass on it. Only problem i see with this afflection card is that Tim Silvia is known for boring fights as well as Arloski. Fedor will make his fight interesting but with Arlosski who the hell knows. His last fights in the UFC were brutal to watch.

Sponge......I was going to ban ya....but I feel bad for the 4 dollars on Gurgel:mj07:

but....."the greatest card you have ever seen".....WHAT :scared

This card is ok.......there are mismatches on this card, I mean come on dude......I can think of tons of cards a hell of alot better then this one. I mean don't get me wrong I am looking forward to watching the fights, but you have to be smoking a lot of crack to think that this is the best card ever in MMA..... A LOT OF CRACK...yes A TON OF CRACK!!!

And for the life of me I don't understand why ya hate Dana so much.....if it were not for him, this "best card in the history of mankind" wouldn't exist. Sure Dana ain't perfect, but if anyone deserves credit it is him, he was huge and I mean huge in the growth of MMA, don't forget that next time ya bash him. I like Dana White, sure ya don't have to like him, but you should damn sure respect what he's done.......shame on you Sponge...shame shame.:nono:

And I love the fact there are free fights on Spike...love it:0corn

Oh and remember these fights are in a ring.....(gee I wonder why....:142smilie....hint = moneywhore)

I agree with Both Sponge and Kickserv.

I think Affliction is VERY STRONG CARD for many reasons and is better than alot of cards UFC has put on from top to bottom in quite a while.
It is not anywhere near best card ever though.
I am looking forward to many fights on this card and only Anderson on UFC card(barely because I think he walks through Irvin).

UFC on free tv=nice
Affliction on FSN.PPV(ie free for me)=nice.
Hopefully watching Ben Rothwell get KTFO=PRICELESS( I can't stand Ben).

Kick i don't have a problem with Dana. I think he is classless but i really don't have a problem with him. I respect what he has done but he doesn't do shit without the billionaire that backs him. Sure i love the free fights to but you are crazy to think this helps MMA in general. Because of afflictions card you are getting free fights. No affliction no card. Oh and show me this great card UFC had that had bigger names then this. YOu got the best fighter in the world fightin what was the UFC best heavyweight for awhile. You have another former champ in Arloski fighting. Then you have other well known names. I think your hate for the superstar Fedor is blinding you. If KImbo was on this card my argument would be a no contest:mj07:

There are at least 6 guys on this card that were in the main event on UFC cards and this doesn't include Fedor. If Lindland was in a main event that makes 7.
