auburn favored by seven may seem high, but i don't think alabama has seen an offense all year as balanced as auburn's. I also think it is very clear alabama's offense was lost late in the game against florida. i have follwed both of these teams very closely this season and auburn is a completely different team than the one that lost to ga. tech early, and it seems to me alabama is heading in the opposite direction. i know its the iron bowl, but i think auburn covers this very easily.

auburn 24
alabama 7

on a side note; grew up a florida st. fan attending fl. st. vs. uf games, went to auburn, and the alabama vs. auburn game dwarfs the sunshine st.rivalry.

CTJ, I'm a little worried that this line might go up by the time the game kicks. 7 pts is a lot of chalk, and I think Bama money will start rolling in. Mr. Alabama himself, Brodie Croyle has been quoted this week as to basically saying nothing matters anymore because they can't play the sec/national championship. If that is the outlook of the Bama Nation then they should get a nice arse whoopin come Saturday.

On the other side Auburn's defense has been lackluster at best. They've given up 27pts to Kentucky then 30 to UGA. Bama's offense has been absolutely horrendous since the Prothro injury and losing Closner didn't help them much either. Auburn has arguabley the best offensive line in the country as well as a very balanced offense. LSU was a good game for Bama to have before they play us as far as talent and scheme. I don't think the vaunted Bama D can hang with the Auburn offense. Brandon Cox has proved to me he is a player. The guy went to LSU and should have won the game had there not been 6 special teams errors (that's counting the Green punt return for TD), then goes to UGA and makes a fourth and 10 play to seal a victory.

Another thing is Auburn is 7-2 ATS this year while Bama is 3-5-2 ATS.

Good Luck and War Eagle

LSU sacked Croyle 6 time. They hit, pressured and hurried him all night, as the Bama OL played poorly LW w/o their leader.

Auburn O line is playing very well together. I was hugely impressed with the unit's play in Baton Rouge. Based on Croyle's comments, I feel Bama is vulnerable to an ass-kicking this week. If Aub is able to "hit Bama in the mouth" early with the running game, the Tide may pack it in.

I played Aub and may add to it. GL:weed:

Brodie and his fellow seniors are 0-3 against their fiercest rival. I'm not gonna be a homer and say that Bama will go into Jordan-Hare and win, but you have to be a real a$$ to think those seniors won't give all they got plus some. This will be inside the number, always is- it's the Iron Bowl.

I can not see Auburn covering this line at all.... True Alabama has struggled to score points.. but there defense is good enough to hold Auburn to very little..... I cant see Brodie going out a loser this year in the Iron Bow.

Cie, congrats. It looks like LSU will win the West after all this season. Maybe John Vaughn will be a little more consistent in Jordan-Hare next year. But then again, he did try and miss the extra point in 2004 game. Who knows?

How Auburn lost to GT and you guys lost to UT I will never know. Both teams are playing as well as anyone right now. I look for both schools to go to a BCS bowl next year.

I see it as Alabama losing somewhere around 13-17. Close game. UA was outcoached second half in LSU game. Can't believe with all the blitzes coming UA didnt screen pass. Against AU look for Alabama using Darby a lot more. It will be a field position game, field goals determining winner.
UA +7 1100/1000
Maybe adding more later.

Call me a real a$$, but I can't see Brodie getting up after the 5th time Stanley McGlover, Marquies Gunn, T.J. Jackson and Co. put him on the ground. j/k :mj07:

Where is Alabama's advantage in this game?

QB: Auburn
RB: Auburn
WR: Auburn
O-line: Auburn x 5!!!

Special teams: Both teams are terrible! No punt return threat or consistent kicker.

D-line: Dead Even
Linebackers: slight edge to Alabama because of Ryans and Roach
Secondary: Alabama

Depth: Auburn

Coaching: Auburn

Go ahead and throw in the home crowd, and you've got a very steep hill for Alabama to climb. I'm not putting the house down on Auburn, but I do think they get the W and the cover here.

27-13 Aubs on top

Best bet of the week might be if Alabama is winning at the half, going with AU..... Not saying UA will be ahead at half. Just saying if they are, the lack of depth and coaching in second half will favor AU. Example Iron Bowl last year, LSU game last week....

Taking Bama the Tide defense gives up an unreal 9 points a game. And with Auburns young Quarterback with the weak arm. I just know that Alabama will win this game.

It's like a told the UGA fans sitting around me last week..."After this game you'll remember the name Brandon Cox." I think after the 4th and 10, 62 yard completion from the Auburn 35 with 3 minutes left in the game, on the road in front of 92,000 fans left a pretty good visual memory for all that were there.

Auburn's O-Line is the best in the nation, argue if you want but it is true. Kenny Irons has had his best games against the best Defenses he has faced. Cox has only been sacked 15 times this year (compared to 25 for Croyle) and has only thrown 3 INT's since the first game. We have 4 career 1000 yd WR's. The bottom line is Auburn is getting better each game while Bama is getting worse.

The only concern for me is our secondary. But given the way the Bama offense has played the last 5 games, it doesn't worry me.

Auburn -6.5 (bought the half although I don't think I'll need it)

weak arm??

Offensive cord. Al Borges has been quoted as saying that he feels that Cox probably fits into his offensive scheme BETTER than last year first rounder Jason Campbell. I have seen cox throw deep balls with accuracy and consistensy all year. I think I remember Cox hitting a 62 yard completion vs. Georgia with the receiver getting about 3 yards after catch. thats strong enough for me.
Also:
Have you seen KENNY IRONS??

:scared

This guy is the real deal, ala. d has not seen a back with his power and speed all year

Also, Auburn probably has one of the most under-rated o lines in the whole country. watch film and you'll see it. Great pass protectio for Cox, and great run blocking for Irons and Lester.

I think the line is only 7 because it is a huge rivalry, thats it, line should be around 10

First of all, Brandon Cox is 22, so he's not really young by college standards, and to say he has a weak arm is like saying John Holmes had a small penis. But seriously, nice analysis...you have obviously done your homework and your opinions show that. :s4:

Your comments remind me of a UGA fan last week who posted that UGA was the "Gimme" of the week, and was better at every position than Auburn.

Really? Did you call Ms. Cleo?
Oh, I know, did you go "Back to the Future" and steal Biff's almanac?
If so, could you tell me if Va Tech is going to cover this week? :mj07:

First of all Cox is a good QB. He has a good arm and he has got better every game this year. You need to wake up and realize this is not the Cox that played against GT (but my how I wish it was).

If you know Bama is going to win, I would love to hear your rational. We have a great defense. Other then that, what do we have right now.

Now AU 2001 you wanted to know who has the advantage then here you go by position:

QB: Even. Personally I think Brodie is the better QB however it is hard for him to show it with the crap offensive line we have. I really hate Cox is nothing but a soph. He is going to be great.

WR: Auburn.

RB: Even.

OL: Auburn. Wow our tackles suck.

DL: Alabama

LB: Alabama and it is not by a slight edge. AU has good LBs especially Williams. However this is the best corp in the nation along with OSU.

DB: Alabama. Big lead if AU's DBs continue to play the same way they have the last couple of weeks.

P: Auburn.

K: Alabama

Depth: Auburn.

Coaching: Auburn

I am unsure about this line. I could see this thing being close because it always seems that way. However we can't score. So I could see something like where we lose by 14 or 17 points. If you put a gun to my head, I would take Auburn (man that hurts) and the points. My prediction would be: 24-10 Auburn.

I will be there anyway to try to pull the Tide through. Good luck on the game.

I do not see where this Cox kid is anywhere as good as Croyle and Darby by far is the better running back Darby has a young offensive line and still leads the sec in rushing over Kenny whoever which has the best line in the conference 7 points the line? They got beat by the same team we did and lost to another horrible GT team in which some QB turned the ball over 4 times what was his name? Brody has turned the ball over 4 times all year and thats with a weak offensive line. Fat boy borges better come up with a good gameplan cause noone this year has. I just think our banged up o-line will give Brody enough time to make some plays against a weak secondary thats why i am taking the Tide money line. Also least you Auby fans forget 12 national titles, 51 bowl appearances and 29 bowl wins most of anyone in the NCAA 21 SEC titles and a 38-30-1 series record over yall. i know i know your gonna say quit bringing up the past well at least we have 1.
