rational thoughts

it is nice to see a fan, look at this situation rationally and state the obvious. this game may turn out to be close. As an auburn grad I hope we blow them out of the water. I also would like to say with a healthy prothro and closner i think alabama would be favored and deservidly so. VERY good year for alabama.

still don' know how you come up even at running back?

Darby a good back, 104 against LSU at home

Irons a great back, 218 against LSU away at night.

I feel this is a good measuring stick because LSU is easily the best D auburn and alabama have faced thus far.

Wrong again. Kenny Irons leads the SEC in rushing even though he only had 1 carry against GT. Irons also has 12 TD's to Darby's 3. But your objective opinion means more than numbers.

Also, Brandon Cox has a higher passer rating than Brodie even though he didn't play against Western Kentucky, which would have padded his stats even more.

Smith, every post makes you look more like a moron who only sees through crimson glasses. Keep living in the past Bro!

They got beat by the same team we did and lost to another horrible GT team in which some QB turned the ball over 4 times what was his name? Brody has turned the ball over 4 times all year and thats with a weak offensive line. Fat boy borges better come up with a good gameplan cause noone this year has. I just think our banged up o-line will give Brody enough time to make some plays against a weak secondary thats why i am taking the Tide money line. Also least you Auby fans forget 12 national titles, 51 bowl appearances and 29 bowl wins most of anyone in the NCAA 21 SEC titles and a 38-30-1 series record over yall. i know i know your gonna say quit bringing up the past well at least we have 1.

AU 2001 summed up a lot of what I was going to say. (man it is hard to agree with an AU man :mj07: ) Check the stats before you go posting information that you are trying to pass off as fact.

Smith, either you have not watched football this year or you are so blind to the Tide, you don't want to see anything else. You lose any credibility you might have had when you can't even state AU's starting tailback who has had a great year: Kenny Irons.

I do believe we have Homer of the year in this thread. It is ok to take off the crimson glasses and see that AU will most likely beat us. We might get the upset but most likely not.

PS-as to why I say Irons and Darby are even, because I think they are if you run them behind the same offensive line. I would give anything if we had AU's line.

I stand corrected the auby RB does lead the conference but on more attempts than Darby here are some facts Croyle 2,117 yards, 13 TDS 4 int. Cox 2,069 yards 12 TDS 7 ints. advantage Croyle and Croyle has played sparingly in some of the games in the forth quarter due to fear of injury ala Western Carolina. Darby would have 2000 yards by now with auburns o-line.

Last year he ran for 1,021 yards on 219 carries behind an O-line that featured 2 NFL draft picks.

This year, he has 1,072 on 192 carries.

FYI, RB Rafael Little is ahead of Darby, and second overall in the SEC in YPG at Kentucky. Are you going to tell me that UK has a better O-line than UA? :mj07:

Irons = 110 YPG, 12 TD
Little = 108 YPG, 9 TD
Darby = 107 YPG, 3TD

Keep the quality posts coming.

Yes everyone in the sec has a better line than we do right now with the youth we have up front and the loss of closner. But you guys are still beat.

I'll be a homer! Auburn has already won me enough to have a great time in Hawaii for free. And if I had bet Alabama every weekend well, I would be pissed (see Utah St, Tenn, Miss, Arkansas, So Miss, Middle Tenn. St.).

I realize that Alabama fans can't see past the next PBR, but Alabama is going downhill, Auburn has owned you for the last three years, and will add another one this year.

Oh, and if I can be really bold, LSU will get shocked by either Ole Miss or Arkansassy.

Alabama, is a second rate school in Alabama in the 00s. Put that in Bear's pipe and smoke it!

Looked at something earlier, but can't get back on the site for some reason but I believe the home team is 1-5 ATS the last 6 meetings.

Wow, good one. You really got me. :clap:

I never said that Darby started every game last year. I am well aware that Darby was not the starter all of last season, however, he still carried the ball 219 times which is way more than most starters.

Here's some research I've done based on your posts:

1) You don't have a clue what you're talking about
2) None of your statements are based on facts
3) You do know your Alabama history, while ignoring the fact that Auburn has dominated the series in the present.
4) Like most UA fans, you probably never went to school there, but think you know about Bear Bryant because you bought a hat with an "A" on it at a gas station and you own a copy of "The Junction Boys" on DVD.

How close am I?

Dominating Alabama in the past few years is just about as impressive as boasting that you have better eyesight than Ray Charles or can beat Richard Simmons in the shotput, but to suggest that UA is on the way down, in my humble opinion, is far from the truth.

Probation/sanctions had the devastating effect as was intended. Add to that the royal screwing handed the program by coach Fraud then top it off with Pappy Price's roll in the hay with the stripper, what program would not suffer?

Worse case scenario is that we end up with the exact same regular season record as the team which some on here would have us believe to be the most talented AU squad in history. Not bad for a loser squad with a 2nd rate QB, 2nd rate RB and a half way decent defense. Had anyone told me at the first of the season that we'd be 9-1 with an overtime loss to LSU, I would have promptly offered the prognosticator an all-expense paid stay at Bryce (which, for you non-Alabamians, is the state mental hospital).

UA will do just fine, especially if they can land a few of the recruits currently mentioning us as their favorite. AU needs to just keep doing what they are doing and pay no mind to that peskey little 2nd rate school to the west. Bama may not be back (and, for heaven's sake, they should not be back yet--the sanctions are still having their effect) but to suggest that the program is on the way down is a bit naive.

By the way, I DID attend UofA (BS, 1983; JD 1986).

The best rivarly in college football. Period.

Two good defensive squads, but Auburn has more punch.

Bama is due and has yet to win in Jordan Hare.

I'm waiting to watch the line, if I can get a hook to go with the seven I'll take the value with Bama with a small play.

Otherwise, this will just be a damn good game to watch. :)

The favorite has FAILED to cover in this game going back to 2000.

Bama may not win, but they will definitely get inside the number.

I love how with one loss, UA fans have gone from hollering about beating USC in the Rose Bowl, and BCS injustice, and comparing this year's team to the 1992 team...to all of a sudden crying about how their team is so thin and weak and still feeling the effects of probation.

Funny what a loss will do to Bamers.
