Maybe it's just me but I find Chris Fowler to be an amazingly awful play by play announcer. Gets calls and yardage wrong a game but his tone is bad as well.

He may have been one of the best pregame hosts ever on gameday (rece Davis isn't a very good replacement) but as a play by play guy.....blah.

He was terrible calling random thurs night Colorado state games 5 years ago before heading to host gameday.

Not sure what they saw or heard in him to be the lead play by play guy for abc/espn
