Anybody here ever meet or is friendly with anybody famous?

I met Patrick Ewing, LL Cool J, Jack Klugman (Oscar Madison), Jonathan Demme (Director), Boon from Animal House (can't remember his name),Ralph Branca and Goose Gossage.
I also cooked for the Toronto Maple Leafs about 10 years ago.
I'm not friendly with any of them just a one time thing.

So who is next, Who knows Who?

played golf with Pat Green, Kenny Chesney, and Tracy Byrd. Not sure if any of our northern friends know who these guys are, but they are all big country singers. I guess thats it. Know some PGA guys too, but none that are too big.

I met Donald J Trump and his girlfriend as he exited his private elevator in the emerald suites of the trump marina.

Chatted with brooke sheilds at the lipton tennis tourny couple years ago...stunning to say the least.

Even though I'm not a country music fan, I know Blake Shelton a little and am pretty good friends with his drummer Tracy Broussard (they were actually in town last night).

Through my last couple of jobs I've gotten to know Dany Heatley and Steve Reinprecht of the NHL fairly well, and to a lesser extent Mike Miller of the NBA.

I know a slew of NFL players, including a few of my very close friends, but I think I'd get castrated by them if I mentioned their names on a gambling forum since the league is so paranoid about anything involving gambling.

Great topic! This should be a very interesting thread. My favorite two encounters would be:

The Edge from U2...I got to chat him up after rehearsals at Notre Dame. Super cool and down to earth.

Cal Ripken, Jr...I worked at a restaurant in Fort Lauderdale and he would come in quite frequently while in spring training. Easily the class act of baseball, friendly, and gracious.

Like Munson, know Cal Ripken jr and his brothers, all who turned out to be real good guys in the game. Their old man though was the biggest prick in baseball, besides earl weaver.

Cal Sr was just a miserable SOB, real funny how all his kids turned out so great in the game.

Know alot of sports figures, mostly in Baseball, but also knew alot of Cleveland browns while working in Lakewood Ohio. Have had dinner with Brian Sipe, and alot of the old timers, like Lou the Toe, may he rest in peace, what of gentle giant and a helleva drinker.

Once sat at Art Modells desk in his office in the old Municpal Stadium, my buddy was dating his personal secretary.

Have met these stars on the set while working as an extra, I'm drawing a blank on some of the names, I just sufferred a mild stroke last weekend, that's why I haven't been around, so it's hard to type and I guess to remember names

Well let's do it this way I was in Death Warrant with the karate guy form Belgium, and was in the Grifters with W Beatty's wife.

Really tired now but will be back with more.

Brad Johnson, Prime Time, Casey Weldon frequented my bowling center when they were in school at FSU. Actually drilled a Minnesota Viking bowling ball for Brad when he got drafted by the Vikes. He gave me a signed football and a few of his "rookie" cards which were also signed. Absolute class act that guy.

Met Burt Reynolds at a celebrity roast in his honor at the Leon County Civic Center. Got a photo. It was cool. Loni waved to me when she was sitting in the SkyBox seats one game. Of course, being hammered and immature, I freaked and made an ass of myself. :D

Man, I love my Florida State!

Man, I'm jealous of you guys! Don't have any family that knows anyone famous, I was at a high school hoops tournament in florida few years though and met Wilt the stilt and he signed a basketball for me, but wouldnt take a picture with us b/c he was tired of flashes, No I didnt ask about his 20k women he slept with ;) guy I know's wife works in a fancy jewelry store in LA and sees hollywood people a lot, and his cousin is Harris Barton, ex-49er o-lineman. My uncle, no joke, is pretty good friends with possibly president kerry, only because he worked in the white house under clinton, and got to know the political guys, and now is in the private sector and a big democrat supporter ;) Of course he looks upon me as some kind of low life, he doesnt even like sports, Im always the guy he asks when he's at a game and wants to know something about it so he can talk about it, LOL, he called me once from jerry jones' box at dallas-skins, b/c someone he does business with knows Jones, and he called me and said whats the spread, and for some players names, other than that, Nobody, Great thread!

Hope you get to feeling better. 57 is too young to be going through that.

We don't realize what good health is until something happens.
And something will happen to most of us. No one escapes completely.

I have a friend who was a Budweiser Heavyweight Arm wrestling champ. I once saw him lift a motor we were working on out of a car and set it on the ground by himself.
He was diagnosed with brain cancer last year.
He developed diabetes and alot of other trouble.
Within two months they operated on him. He is now blind but the brain cancer is in remission. He is in a nursing home now unable to take care of himself. Talk about a sudden life change. He still wieghs around 280 and is trying to lose weight. I am taking him some apples tommorrow.

I meet celebs and athletes in my work. Usually through
Interior designers and architects I work with.

Roberto Duran - hands of stone , on a commercial plane I shook his hand. His hand was swellen as he had just fought and lost in Vegas. I squeezed hard and made him say no mas.. jk .
Evander Holyfield - Did gates at his estate in Fayetteville during construction.

Very reserved soft spoken. I sat on the toilet in the master bathroom. I figured from one King to another I would plant my ass where the Champs ass would soon shit on the thrown and take a dump.
Bob Horner - met me at the door in his pajamas at 11 AM. He just looked at me, pointed to the kitchen and said " wife ".
Andre Rison
Terry Pendleton - him and I met in his huge house just as it was finished. He said no about five times before I got him to
sign the proposal. it was early morning and felt almost surreal
Tom Glavine - standoffish, wife was nice
Stan Williams baseball
Jeff Foxworthy
Usher Raymond - interior work in house. very shy man. His little brother was wearing some nice clothes.
Whitney Houston - before her wired days. She was dressed casual but had that glow about her that only celebs have.
Dominique Wilkins
Phil Niekro
Jimmy Carter and Amy - They came to the old Storage building and got a bike out for Amy. I saw a huge stuffed bear he got from someone while he was President. They moved from there to his New library.
alot of entertainrment business ppl

I will tell you one thing. If you act star struck you don't get the work.

take care ctownguy. hope you feel better.

back in high school (St.Michael's College), I had several classes with NFL tight end O.J. Santiago, and ex-NHL player Brett Lindros.
During my first year of University, I often saw WWE diva Trish Stratuss roam the hallways.

I took a piss next to Michael Jordan at a strip club.
I had a talk with Sean Elliot (Spurs player) about BMWs at a strip club. Yeah, Dr. Strangelove knows my passion.
I told Jim Carrey that I thought his movies were ok. :D
I sat next to Michael Jordan and Dennis Rodman when they "where not getting along" in a strip club.
I told Jon Secada (Latin music artist) that my mom liked his music but he was damn short in person. :thefinger
I got drunk with an ex-Vikings player. Can't remember his name for some reason.
I told Tony Parker that he choked during the '01-'02 NBA season. He was drunk (and underage) at a strip club and couldn't do anything about it. :thumb:
I told ex-Sonics player Detlef Schrempf that he was an ass.
I almost laughed at Jesse James Leija (boxer) when I met him because of his height. OK, I chuckled a little bit.

That's some of what I remember off-hand. I hope you don't see the strip club pattern. :tongue Give me some shots and I will tell anybody important what I think of them. :cursin: :142slap: If I think of more, I will post them since I know I have a slow life. :shade:
