I worked as a DJ in a Strip Club for a long time and met a lot of folks. Some cool, some not so.
Met Gina Fine when she was featuring at a club in Pittsburgh before I moved to Orlando. I had to go back to their dressing room 3 songs before they were to appear on stage. Iwent back and she was in tears sitting in a chair and banging the back of her head against the wall repeatedly and was begging me for crystal. I went back 1 song prior to see if she was going to be able to perform. She was still in tears and still banging her head on the wall. I asked her if I should delay her performance and she said she would be fine, no pun intended. One song later I introduced her, and low and behold, she comes strutting out onto the stage like nothing had ever happened. That was the 10 pm show......3 songs before the 1 am show I go and check on her. Go to the beginning of this story and repeat. Complete whack job!
Cecil Fielder used to hang out in my club almost every night during spring training when he was with the Tigers. Really nice guy, pretty quiet, but sure liked the tiny white girls. He brought Eric Davis in one night and he brought some crappy Rap CD's up for me to play. Just the opposite of Cecil. Very arrogant and almost demanding me to play them. Wrong way to approach me about that. They never got played.
In Mike Hampton's 2nd year with the Astro's he and Luis Gonzalez came in together. Expected Gonzo to be a bit stand offish since he had been in the league for awhile. He was super nice and Hampton was one of the bigger dicks I have ever met.
Fred McGriff came in one day during the afternoon and I recognized him immediately, he noticed that and asked if I wouldn't tell anybody that he was in there, he just wanted to relax for a bit before heading back to the airport. He hung out by himself for almost two hours and then came up to the booth and thanked me for not saying anything, and off to the airport he went.
Jeff Blake rolled up day in his black 911 Turbo right when we were opening for lunch. Our electricity had just gone out so there was no music to play, so I hung out in the foyer and talked for about 30 minutes with him. He was very laid back and very polite. I have rooted for him ever since.
Scottie Pippen would make us a regular stop whenever the Bulls were in Orlando. BIG DICK.....I guess to bo along with that nose.
The biggest asshole to ever come in the club hands down was Brett Favre. Complet and total asshole. Have rooted against him ever since.
Sylvester Stallone came in one night and whenever anybody asked him if he needed anything, he would just slowly inhale on his cigar and then just blow it into their face and then turn away,
The most fun I had with these guys though had to be the year that Mitch "Wild Thing" Williams was trying to make a comeback with the Royals. He came in the club every afternoon, always holding two bottles of Bud. One full of beer, the other used as his spitoon. Thought it a bit funny since he was in a couple of commercials at the time for Miller Lite. He would come up in my booth and hang out for hours at a time. Good ole boy. He loved to talk about his farm and the rodeo. I knew nothing about either. He was a very nice guy. Never tried picking up any of the girls and always spoke very highly of his wife.
When I managed a night club in Orlando, Shaq came in once in awile and he used to mi a couple of beats every once in awhile. Never liked the guy as far as his sports antics, but off the court was a very nice guy and did a lot of things for young kids in the community that were never really publicized
Ken Griffey Jr. went into the Best Buy that my buddy maged and asked for him. When he got to Mr Griffey, he was holding about 20 DVD's. He asked my buddy if he would give him a discount!!!!!!!!!!!!
These guys are unbelievable.
There were guys coming in the club all of the time. These are the ones off of the top of my head. If I think of any more good ones I will come back and edit this.
Enjoy!
