Colin Kaepernick explains why he won't stand during national anthem

Eric Edholm,Shutdown Corner 2 hours 15 minutes ago

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been a lightning rod for attention in his career, and his latest statements surely could make him an even more polarizing figure.

Kaepernick explained his unwillingness to stand for the playing of the national anthem, which of course happens before the kickoff of every NFL game. It happened in last night?s preseason game at Levi?s Stadium against the Green Bay Packers, one in which he struggled in his first action since last season.

So you guys are against freedom of speech and expression?

Cool.

Certainly not, but I can disagree with what you say as well as your actions. If what you say or do make you a dumb fuck you are still free to say/do it. Labeling you as a dumbfuck is a choice the rest of us are allowed to make.

NO we are not against it at all THIS pos forgets why he is playing in the NATIONAL Football League.

MY family served for our freedom and one died 17 yr old my mothers brother.

I know dozens of others who served and every year my corner tavern celebrates the Marines B day.

SO for one day we give up parking for one block.

THis is way different than freedom of speech.

This is all about BLACKS notice that Colin is a BLACK guy also.

IF he so concerned about his people why don't he help them with some of his millions of $$$

HE gets paid to play a game that was given the opportunity Because of those who served and died for OUR Freedom

It is always amusing watching someone use this line when it literally has nothing to do with the situation at hand. Its akin to telling your boss to go fuck himself and then saying "you cant fire me as I have freedom of speech". Good on him for exercising his freedom, now accept the consequences of exercising that freedom.

I am against not standing for our National Anthem in protest.
I take it you don't give a shit.
Figures

Yeah I really don't care if he wants to protest this way.

I also don't care about the NFL. The league is past the point of being a joke.

You guys also have right to trash him, but soldiers died for his right to do such a thing.

It's a two way asshole street.

So. Cal
Let me see if i understand this

A half black half white guy
Raised by white people
Making millions playing football
Is protesting a country for oppressing black people and other people of color????

Presumably this is based on the issue of a handful of black people; mostly criminals committing a crime; being shot and killed by white and black police officers?

Where is the protest and outrage by Colin and others like him for black citizens being gunned down as innocent bystanders by other black criminals/gang members in inner cities?

I believe in Chicago alone there are 10-20x the number of innocent people killed by gang members than criminals by cops......and yesterday dwayne wades cousin gest shot walking her kids going to register for school? THAT is an outrage and something to protest and find a solution for (unleash the cops in these areas)

You can't be against him, or you're a racist. That's how it works.

Soldiers die for a paycheck. Soldiers haven't fought for our "freedom" for 70 years.
