Rush Limbaugh cuts NYC penthouse price to $13 million

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh is having a tough time saying adios to New York City. But it's not because he'll miss the Big Apple. Rather, he's been forced to cut the asking price for his Fifth Avenue penthouse to $12.95 million.
Limbaugh originally listed his spacious digs in March, asking $13.95 million. He bought the 10-room condo at 1049 Fifth Ave. in 1994 under the name of R H Trust, according to city property documents.
Luxury broker Corcoran Group is listing the property, but the firm chose not to release photos nor to confirm the celebrity resident. Limbaugh was not available for comment.
The pad sprawls across nearly 5,000 square feet and two of its terraces overlook Central Park and its famous reservoir.
The pre-war property features a double living room; a wood-paneled library; four terraces; enormous baths; and a maid's room. But it's not for the faint of heart -- or those afraid of a big renovation. The general appearance can be described as, well, ornate, with trompe l'oeil ceilings and mural-covered walls.
Other lavish features include gold leaf moldings, mahogany floors, upholstered walls and an Italian marble foyer.
So what's all that worth? For the tax rolls, the city values the property at $1.56 million and says property would rent for more than $26,000 per month.
Limbaugh, host of "The Rush Limbaugh Show," has been a major voice in the conservative media arena for decades. In 2009, the pundit said he would sell his property after New York governor David Paterson proposed a so-called "millionaire's tax" on residents who make more than $500,000 a year.

Far too many issues and people divide this country. Things that people do and say because of these issues first make shake my head, next end up angering me, luckily it stops at my keyboard or my couch or smoking in my garage. It's how I control my anger now that keeps me out of trouble, luckily I don't drink, I just smoke too much, and I can't be arrested driving a couch, YET ....
The lies that Politicians and Talking Heads spew forward is what divides this country, the the people continue repeating the lies without a clue as to what they are saying.
It makes it hard some times to be Proud of My Country, as much as it pains me to say that, as a Retired Soldier, Combat Vet, with friends who still serve. I try to remain positve, I try to believe that the ship will be righted, but you don't re-arrange the deck chairs on the Titanic once it has hit the Iceberg. For every negative article I read, I DO look for the opposing side of that story, it's not very easy to find.
Most think I post the articles I find to be an asshole, OK, I am an alarmist, OK, but what is wrong with being prepared for a natural disaster? How many here live or lived in New Orleans, Tenn, Tornado Alley, Florida, California, where we had another Earthquake in ther early AM or any other place that has the potential to be hit be Natural Disasters?
These are dangerous times we live in, the country hasn't been this divided since the Civil War. There is all of this talk of CHANGE, but that's all it is, TALK ! No action, the action will be in the TRUE TEA PARTY MOVEMENT ! Rand Paul is smoking Grayson in Kentucky and he will punish the Dem as well ! Moose Hunting Barbie is not the answer, her and the hijacked movement are a bunch of clowns. The Liberty is Movement is now, time to show your American Pride. I show it everyday as I try to educate people everyday. Sweep them all out, they are poison, they have been there too long.

I have pretty much come to the conclusion that the problems that we have in this country are far too complex to solve and make eveyone happy.
There is always going to be this discourse between sides , the anger, the pain, the arguments that will get us no where.
The President these days has the toughest job of any leader in the world.
Just think of getting up everyday and having to look at hundreds of problems and requests that need to get done. And every decision you make affects peoples lives in one way or another.
It musts be overwhelming at times.
I am like you Illum in I tend to worry about the bad things even before they happen. I drive my wife crazy sometimes doing that.
I am trying to be more even minded these days and just go with the flow.
That way I dont get too excited when good things happen in the country, or too down when Sarah Palin describes herself as a redneck.
