SEC Football Bowl records since 2002/2003:

11 Wins
10 Loses

Dominating...

I'm not trying to get in a pissing match about conferences. But if you take the top two teams out of the picture every year (2005 USC/Auburn).

The top teams from the Big 4 (SEC/PAC10/ACC/BIG12) can beat each other any day.

The middle tier programs from the Big 4 conferences can beat anybody on any given day...

The bottom tier teams from the big 4 powerhouse conferences can beat each other any given day.

You are wrong. Tennessee has the best record in the past 20 years in the SEC.

Florida is the only team in that state that has a winning BCS bowl record (4-3)... FSU (5-5) UM(3-4). I personally believe that those 3 teams are interchangeable from year to year as to which one is the best as all 3 schools have done extremely well in the past 20 years. But I understand you were just trying to make a slam at the SEC with your statement which was incorrect to begin with.

Correct me if I am wrong on that. :)

DD, I agree. I feel like the Big 12, Big 10, ACC, and SEC can all make legit arguments as to which one is the best. I personally feel the SEC is the best, but that is just my opinion.

The Pac-10, however, cannot make a case because they are clearly inferior to the other big four. They only have one quality program, which shows in the fact that USC is the only program in that conference that has won an outright National Championship.

So. Cal
your opinion of the pac-10 is COMPLETELY based on the fact that we dont have the same teams performing at a high level every year (like the sec, big-12, big-10)

in the pac-10 we currently have an elite team in sc, last year our second best team was cal...a few years before it was wazzu, oregon, oregon st, ucla, arizona, etc....each year the TOP teams are different which a completely foreign concept to you but that does NOT mean the conf is weak.....just review the bowl record and occ record (and occ comp) and get back to me....your basing your opinion on falsehoods not facts.

Yes, Auburn, you are wrong. Both Miami AND Florida State have been better than Florida AND Tennessee the last twenty years. More National Championships. More rankings in the Top 5. More rankings in the Top 10. Better record in head to head competition.

I welcome Washington St. to the Plains in 2006. It will surely be a great experience for both teams.

I know everything is seashells and balloons in Auburn right now, but you guys are just a little over a year down the road from firing your Coach in the middle of the night. Things change. When your alums were trying to throw Tommy Tuberville in a ditch, we were beating Texas in the Holiday Bowl.

You mispoke, it was the AD and members of the board of trustees. They have since be reprimanded/or dismissed. As an alumni, I felt your remark should be corrected.

I stand corrected. This kind of action is usually fueled by alums, but if this was not the case, I apologize.

I have been to Auburn and was very impressed and speaking for Washington State, it will be one of the highlights of the 2006 season.

I am not predicting an upset, but the team should be pretty good. By rights, it should compete for the Pac-10 Championship in 2006 - that is if USC comes back to earth and plays like a college football team. In any event, it should be a competitive game.

Can you read? Where are you coming from? I never said Florida was better than FSU or Miami. I simply said Florida had a better BCS bowl record than FSU or Miami, not that they had more national championships or top 5 rankings. Since when do rankings make you a better team when you play in the big east and ACC (without MIami or VT)? I base how good a team is on wins against quality opponents, not rankings that come primarily from being the big dog in a weak conference. (Which FSU and Miami were both in for 19 of the last 20 years w/ big east and acc)

I never said Tennessee was better than FSU or Miami. Go back and reread if you need to, but I simply corrected you on your incorrect statement that UF was the best team in the SEC over the past 20 years, which they WERE NOT. And again, you ARE STILL WRONG ON THAT ONE. Tennessee has the best record in the SEC over the past 20 years. Got that?

If you're going to respond, please at least know what you are responding to. :)

Are you sure you want to bring up coaching scandals? Coming from the school (WSU) who Mike Price left without thinking twice, for a job in the SEC, only to shame himself forever by blowing $1,000+ on the ugliest stripper I've ever seen!!! See below:

Wow, thanks for the big laugh. I never seen the picture before. WOW! I thought what was he thinking getting into the scandal in the first place and not signing the contract etc. But now I am thinking, what the hell was he thinking getting this stripper? I know the girls in the south are smoking hot. Price is a damn good coach but maybe a little fawked up in the head. Thanks again for the laugh.

Auburn, thanks for the picture! Mike Price must have had his beer goggles on. ...By the way, he just might end up with a pretty big settlement from Sports Illustrated. And he's doing a great job at UTEP.

I stand corrected about Tennessee being the best team in the SEC over the last twenty years. Do you know the exact records of Florida and Tennessee, also SEC Championships?

I do think it is ironic that two teams in the region have been better than any college in the SEC. FSU had an amazing run of consecutive Top 5 finishes in the Polls. And if FSU didn't play Miami every year, they'd probably have three or four more National Championships.

Florida: 254-108-5 (70.17%)
Tenn: 252-102-8 (71.19%)

Head to head: Tenn leads 19-15-0
Average Score: Tenn 22, FL 19

Bama leads the SEC w/ 21 Conf Championships or Co-Champions.

Tenn is next w/ 13
Florida has 6

Thanks, TimmyE.

I should have been more specific - I meant in the last twenty years.

Their records are of the last 20 years, everything else is all time.

Last 20 years florida has won all 6 of its conf champs, Tenn has won 5. Bama still leads with 8.

Mike Price is a very good coach, and I am not surprised at his success at UTEP. I am surprised that he was able to get drunk enough to take THAT THING back to his hotel. :scared

"Destiny" convinced the world and Mike Price that he had a drinking problem. I don't think he was a perfect fit for Bama, but he would have done a lot bitter than Shula - though, I was reading where Alabama might win the SEC West. ...Any validity to that statement?
